** ''Literature/{{Twilight}}'' fans don't have brain-stems. To be fair, she could have said a lot worse. And with a glorious dose of HypocriticalHumor, she's on Team Edward.

* SpiritualAntithesis: She considers ''Film/WarOfTheWorlds'' to be one to ''Film/IndependenceDay'' as while ''Independence Day'' showed how the alien invasion brought humanity closer and was on the [[SlidingScaleOfIdealismVersusCynicism Idealistic side]], ''War of the Worlds'' was focused on how utterly screwed humanity is when confronting the aliens and each other.

At point she inserts a TakeThat to the Critic's own rhyming review of ''Film/HowTheGrinchStoleChristmas'', calling him a "noxious dilettante". Because "bitchy KnowNothingKnowItAll" wouldn't have sounded so academic.

** The only way she knows how to cope with ''WesternAnimation/TheLorax'' is to drink cheap booze until she vomits up her insides.

** In ''WesternAnimation/TheLorax'', she asks [[WebVideo/TheNostalgiaCritic who wants to see an unpleasant dumbass spend a whole review bitching in rhyme]]. Not a serious TakeThat, though, as [[HypocriticalHumor she's rhyming when she says this and rhymes some more about getting wasted at the end]].

* YouLookFamiliar:[[invoked]] Nella's MadScientist character appears in the same room as Nella herself, while Elisa plays The Makeover Fairy and [[HotScientist Dr. Tease]].

** "Nostalgic Baby Dolls" looked at dolls marketed at girls, in a way that was filled with literal [[BlackComedy Dead Baby Comedy]].
** Apparently this can be a bad thing. Elisa explained the "TLC review taken down" controversy as Lindsay feeling like it was too different from her shows usual tone.

** When she does her directing lessons in ''Film/{{Xanadu}}'', the image says "brought to you by the USC school of pretentious indoctrination".

* ShowDontTell: Being a film student, she gets really irritated by movies that don't listen to this advice. ''Film/{{Xanadu}}'' was the most blatant example.

* StylisticSuck: The Chick and Elisa's scene with bad blocking in the ''Film/Xanadu'' review.

** She plays "Love Game" by Music/LadyGaga at the start of her ''MyLittlePony'' review. Because "I wanna take a ride on your disco stick" is really what you think of when you see cute, girly ponies.

* StudentTeacherRomance: She's disgusted when a student sing-asks a teacher for sex in ''Film/{{Grease 2}}''.

* UncertainAudience:[[invoked]] Notes that ''Film/SpiceWorld'' switches between jokes for kids and jokes geared toward adults at random.

* SmallAnnoyingCreature: She might love dogs, but Scamp from ''WesternAnimation/LadyAndTheTrampIIScampsAdventure/'' just fails at being a likeable character.

* YouKeepUsingThatWord: "Second degree murder" doesn't mean what the Chick thinks it means.
