** Wonder Woman (1987): By this point the Lasso's powers had been streamlined and more clearly defined; it is indestructible and those in its power cannot lie and are forced to face the truth about whatever the wielder is questioning them on, which includes god-like beings such as Darkseid. In Wonder Woman's hands these life altering revelations usually lead to people reforming to an extent, but even then they lead several people to their deaths via sacrificing themselves for the greater good, and in more cruel hands can cause people to kill themselves in despair. Artemis used it on a villain and it made him commit suicide by blasting his brains out on the spot out of guilt.

** Wonder Woman (1942): During The Golden Age of Comic Books the lasso had the additional ability of being able to make anyone wrapped in it obey the commands of the one wielding it, which made it far more dangerous in villain hands than it was when Wonder Woman was using it.

** Wonder Woman (2006): Diana is horrified when Genocide gets hold of her lasso, as she knows the being will use it to torture people with twisted cruel truths they cannot escape from until they're allowed to kill themselves. The villain in question uses it to mentally break her loved ones and shatter the wills of her allies, which include Green Lanterns known for their HeroicWillpower. In Wonder Woman: Odyssey, the goddess Nemesis uses the lasso to drive people insane and to their deaths, which includes much of the JLA roster.

* ''ComicBook/WonderWoman1987'':
** The Amazons' whole backstory is some pretty weird stuff of nightmares. In the Perez run, they are all the reincarnated souls of women murdered by men, including Hippolyta who's the reincarnation of a pregnant woman murdered by her pissed off mate for showing pity, and were brought back to bring peace to the world under the decree of the Olympians Gods. Thanks to Ares, the Amazons were tricked and made into sex slaves by an unwitting ComicBook/{{Hercules|Unbound}} and his goons until they managed to fight back and eventually were forced to become guardians of a literal portal to Hell as penance that they also made into a personal utopia. Though as the stories progress you'll know that the utopia doesn't last.
** '''Zeus'''. A hallmark of GodIsEvil if there ever was one. If you thought he was bad in mythology, he's arguably worse in the Wonder Woman-Verse and the Amazons still have to worship him or suffer his wrath. Case and point is one of his first appearances includes trying to rape Wonder Woman and getting pissed for the refusal!
** Ares is a pretty nightmarish [[SatanicArchetype Satan Expy]] in the Perez Incarnation. Especially since he's not the DumbMuscle he's presented as in mythology, but a calculated bloodthirsty OmnicidalManiac warmonger who usually makes sure he can bounce back from whatever failures he commits. At one point he was powerful enough to give ''Darkseid'' pause and grew in strength to the point Wonder Woman wasn't much of a threat to him anymore.
** Circe is a particularly nasty piece of work considering she's what you would get if the Circe from The Odyssey had her worst traits turned UpToEleven and was also a supervillain. Some of her hobbies include instigating genocide for laughs, turning people into monstrous beast hybrids called Bestiamorphs and eating them if they disappoint her as one dead minion can attest, and being an all-around cruel harpy who lives to make Wonder Woman and her loved ones as miserable as possible. At her worst, she's the cause of horrible events like that of ComicBook/AmazonsAttack, has managed to actually kill Wonder Woman at least once by turning her back into clay, and can put even the likes of ComicBook/LexLuthor and ComicBook/TheJoker under her heel.
** The Second Doctor Poison is pretty nightmarish considering she uses drugs and self-inflicted surgical wires to fix her eyes and mouth into a permanent stare and grin. She's also made other, less visible modifications that let her exhale poison gas and has as little restraint as she does sanity. This is a woman who released a virus she hoped would multiply and kill everyone on Earth ForScience
** '''Doctor Psycho'''. If his freakish appearance doesn't unsettle you, his freakish mental powers and the way he uses them will. In his first appearance, he's shown using his mental abilities to MindRape Hermes and Wonder Woman into seeing his head on each other's bodies and mentally traumatizing a pregnant woman's fetus so her unborn baby drives her and itself insane before it dies. He did all that just to give his powers a test run. He also brainwashes Wonder Woman's TagalongKid into thinking she's Wonder Woman and plagues her dreams with nightmares just for fun. He only gets worse with each new appearance as his next act is trying to have people commit suicide in droves by having them jump off buildings. All just to give Wonder Woman a message.
*** During the One Year Later event, it's revealed Psycho used MindControl to make a bunch of people commit cannibalism on two insubordinate villain lackeys, an act that not only sexually aroused him, but inspired him to MindRape them by letting them feel his arousal as if it were their own and then let them go once he was bored.

* '''Zeus'''. If you thought he was bad in mythology, he's arguably worse in the Wonder Woman-Verse. Case and point is one of his first appearances includes trying to rape Wonder Woman and getting pissed for the refusal!
* Ares is a pretty nightmarish Satan Expy in the Perez Incarnation.

** During the One Year Later event, it's revealed Psycho used MindControl to make a bunch of people commit cannibalism on two insubordinate villain lackeys, an act that not only sexually aroused him, but inspired him to MindRape them by letting them feel his arousal as if it were their own and then let them go once he was bored.

* Every single one of Queen Atomia's slave "subjects" was presumably human at one point, before she hit them with her ShrinkRay and shoved them in her horrific MookMaker, permanently altering them physically and mentally into the forms of her robotic looking "Neutron" and "Protron" slaves for the rest of their lives.

* The Second Doctor Poison is pretty nightmarish considering she uses drugs and self-inflicted surgical wires to fix her eyes and mouth into a permanent stare and grin. She's also made other, less visible modifications that let her exhale poison gas and has as little restraint as she does sanity. This is a woman who released a virus she hoped would multiply and kill everyone on Earth ForScience.

* Circe is a particularly nasty piece of work considering she's what you would get if the Circe from The Odyssey had her worst traits turned UpToEleven and was also a supervillain. Some of her hobbies include instigating genocide for laughs, turning people into monstrous beast hybrids called Beastiomorphs and eating them if they disappoint her as one dead minion can attest, and being an all-around cruel harpy who lives to make Wonder Woman and her loved ones as miserable as possible. At her worst, she's the cause of horrible events like that of ComicBook/AmazonsAttack and can put even the likes of ComicBook/LexLuthor and ComicBook/TheJoker under her heel.

* '''Doctor Psycho'''. In his first appearance, he's shown using his mental abilities to MindRape Hermes and Wonder Woman into seeing his head on each other's bodies and mentally traumatizing a pregnant woman's fetus so her unborn baby drives her and itself insane before it dies.

* '''Doctor Psycho'''. As adventurous as her stories are, the world of Wonder Woman is full of horrific tales dealing with RapeAndRevenge, Sexual Slavery, Mass Genocide, depraved assortments of maniacs, and the hazards that come with delving into the madcap world of Greek Mythology.
