** There was a story that showcased the Emperor’s notorious wrath, involving the fate of Bevel Lemelisk, one of the chief designers for the Death Star. Sidious had Lemelisk executed ''multiple times'' by having him cloned, with each successive generation retaining the other’s’ memories. Some of the highlights involved being [[ManOnFire fried alive]] or [[EatenAlive devoured by swarms of insects]]. [[SanitySlippage It’s little wonder the guy went batshit]].

* Even though it's visually depicted by stock footage from the first film, a few changes in the sound design are enough to make the arming of the Death Star II's superlaser much more terrifying than that of its predecessor. The original Death Star's arming sequence was just accompanied by a few beeps, verbal commands and one or two other low-key sound effects. By contrast, the comparable sequence here is accompanied by a massive roar that gradually builds in intensity until the superlaser fires, making it clear that its predecessor -- which blew away an entire planet as though it were nothing -- was practically a pop-gun compared to this thing. And unlike its predecessor, this one would not have had [[Film/RogueOne the weakness that Galen Erso built into it]].

What should be even more frightening is that, while Death Star I recharges every 24 hours after each shot, this new Death Star can fully recharge ''in just a few minutes''.

** It ATE Boba Fett... subverted by the fact that '''he survived this''', as explained in ''Legends'' and now canon in ''Series/TheMandalorian''. May also be even worse when you think about what it was like while he was down there, since the only visual cues to that experience is that Boba's human face is now scarred by its stomach acid.

** The audio drama lacks the picture, owing to it being an audio drama, but Palpatine's voice actor (Paul Hecht) in there nails all the anger and scariness in his tone, describing his Force lightning as "the naked energies of the Dark Side, the lightning of pure willpower". If you have an idea of what the Sith run on (fear, anger and hate among them), this will definitely show just how powerful this Sith lord is, though in verbal form. Luke's voice actor (Joshua Fardon) even screams for his father to help with even Vader hesitantly submitting to Sidious all while the latter is cackling about taking Luke's pain as his pleasure. Even Palpatine's delivery is just as frightening as Ian's if not more.

Just For Pun is a disambiguation

* Consider Threepio's recap to the Ewoks as to how they got there. He says "Princess Leia", "Master Luke" and "Nootch Vader". Not Darth. Nootch. Meaning the Ewok language doesn't have a word for Princess or Master, but does have a word for "Darth". Meaning Ewoks know of the Dark Side. Bearing in mind [[JustForPun (ha!)]] we know how much of a mess a basic Ewok can make of a stormtrooper. Now imagine an Ewok Sith.

** Chocking the Death Star's commander half to death isn't normal... But executing incompetents and suicidal officers is. Vader obviously thought Jerjerrod was being an idiot by ordering him around and started executing him, but when it came out he was simply relaying an order of the Emperor it was clear Jerjerrod was simply being a good Imperial officer and spared him.
* The novelization states that the Rebels used fire ships... That is, warships filled with explosives and [[RammingAlwaysWorks thrown at the target to destroy it]]. A nightmarish tactic for both the crews and the targets:
** For the crews, they knew that at the first chance they'd have to set their explosive-filled ships in a collision route against the heavy armed Star Destroyers and then run to the escape pods, hoping to not get caught in the explosion. Or to be shot down by the Star Destroyers as they fired on the fire ships after the first impact revealed ''what'' the Rebels were actually doing.
*** Worse still, Ackbar likely brought them for the '''''Executor'''''.
** For the Imperials... They're there, sitting in heavily armed and protected warships, sure they're invulnerable, and then one of these small ships rams one of their invincible Star Destroyers and ''blows it up''. Now the Imperials have to choose, [[MortonsFork concentrate fire against the inferior Rebel warships that are trying to blow them up and thus get shattered by the fire ships or divide fire between targets to fend off the fire ships and risk being overwhelmed by the Rebel warships]].

** The plight of the B'omarr monks is horrifying in its own right as Jabba stole their monastery for himself to make it his palace. One must imagine the horror they suffer through witnessing their temple, once dedicated to enlightenment, be twisted and perverted into a den of murder, cruelty and debauchery.

** That whole "Not as forgiving as I am" line becomes much more horrifying when one considers that Vader's preferred method of disposing incompetence is Force choke. Certainly not a pleasant way to go but compare that with Force lightning. ''Every'' single time we've seen it used the victim is screaming and howling in agony. And while Force choke is relatively quick, Force lightning ''lasts''. Heck, even though Luke survived, he was zapped for far longer than he should have been. When you compare the two execution methods, Vader really is the more merciful.
