* WildTeenParty
** In the "Mr. Monk Goes to a Rock Concert". Monk, Natalie, and Captain Stottlemeyer go to a music festival in town that week to look for Stottlemeyer's son, and the only reason why Monk goes along is when he discovers that he accidentally took the phrase "rock show" to mean a geology exhibit. While waiting outside, due to being horrified at learning what he actually agreed to go to, Monk is utterly disgusted when a couple starts passionately making out on the hood of Stottlemeyer's car. The trope fades into the background after Monk and Natalie are roped by Stork's girlfriend Kendra Frank into investigating the murder.
** Inverted in "Mr. Monk Is the Best Man". Because Stottlemeyer lets Monk plan his bachelor party (which proves to be a very big mistake), it's barely even a party, and most certainly isn't wild: with a port-a-potty in the actual bathroom, pizza with [[ExactWords literally nothing on it]] (not even cheese or sauce), one 12 ounce beer for each partygoer (12 guy, amounting to 144 oz of alcohol total) which requires them to appoint Randy as "Designated Drunk"; a joke about Stottlemeyer's failed relationships goin cold before Monk gets to the punch line, and him showing ''Film/BachelorParty'', which is implied to not be a popular film among the cops. The closest it ever gets to being a wild teen party is when Randy staggers in asking who owns the police unit out front that's painted a charcoal gray with flames on the side, roof and windshield, causing everyone to run outside and find Stottlemeyer's car on fire.
* WillTheyOrWontThey: Randy Disher and Sharona Fleming. Teased throughout all of Bitty Schram's tenure with the show, [[spoiler:seemingly dropped after she left, then confirmed that they will as of the series finale]].
** They are definitely living together in ''Mr. Monk on Patrol''.

* WentCrazyWhenTheyLeft: Monk had a full-on psychotic break when Trudy died, was stripped of his badge, and didn't leave his house for three years. At the time of the pilot, he's just getting back into his work, only now he's a private detective/consultant for the San Francisco PD. He's desperate to be reinstated, but his lingering issues cause Captain Stottlemeyer to have serious doubts about his ability to perform in dangerous situations. Case in point, one perp gets away by climbing back down a fire-escape that Monk is clinging to half-way up because he's petrified of heights and froze in place while chasing the guy.

** "Mr. Monk's Last Case" effectively resets Monk's progress at the end of the series after [[spoiler:solving Trudy's murder]]. The UsefulNotes/COVID19Pandemic was enough to mentally break some very strong people, so naturally a very neurotic germaphobe like Monk would be knocked back on his heels by such a disease.
