Superpowers cannot cause Surprisingly Realistic Outcomes since they don't exist in real life.

* SurprisinglyRealisticOutcome: The series revolving around this is largely why EmpoweredBadassNormal [=ESPer=] characters have such a major advantage over other [=ESPers=] and normal people with guns. In many works of fiction, an underplayed power most people have ''by default'' is being able to take ludicrous amounts of pain from weapons like swords and guns and walk away with ease. Not so here; ''everyone'' is a GlassCannon playing [[RocketTagGameplay rocket tag with each other]] unless their power ''specifically'' gives the [=ESPer=] a means to withstand gunfire or avoid it entirely. If an [=ESPer=] ''doesn't'' have options like this, one or two bullets ''will'' put them down. Eventually, the [=ESPers=] who end up ruling the roost are the ones (like Kuroi Klaudia) with the military or martial training to survive scenarios like warzones without their power; the ones (like the protagonist, Rinka) who have nothing to fear from conventional arms; and the ones clever and ingenuous enough (like The Professor) to affect the world from the sidelines, outside of direct combat with combatants who could, by all rights, take them out with relative ease.

* FightsLikeANormal: A downplayed example, but most of the cast tends to make use of common weapons and martial arts training in addition to any powers they have. This is justified by the fact there is no real FlyingBrick in the cast. Beyond ''some'' [=ESPers=] with potentially highly destructive powers (like Ren or The Professor, [[AnIcePerson whose]] [[MasterOfIllusion powers]] are substantial enough they don't often need to get physical), most of the ''really'' dangerous [=ESPers=] combine their special power with a healthy knowledge of hand-to-hand combat or a weapon of some stripe. This is best exemplified by the protagonist, Rinka, whose power to phase through inorganic objects doesn't improve her combat prowess much but ''does'' allow her to NoSell most powers and weapons directed at her. And when everyone is forced to fight hand-to-hand, [[EmpoweredBadassNormal Rinka holds a clear advantage.]]
