What does that have to do with "continuity"?

* CanonDiscontinuity: The 1971 series is this. Due to its Bowdlerise bowdlerization of the source material, that series was a flop. In fact, Ganso was marketed as being the ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin original Bakabon, and in the first episode of that series, it shows a cloaked figures calling out, "Who's the original Tensai Bakabon's Papa?" to which a bunch of Expy expies respond they are. The cloaked figure then laughs and reveals himself, showing that the real Bakabon's Papa TakeThat is him.
** In spite of this, however, the theme song from the 1971 show is still used afterwards. An English version was even made for one of the later CD compilations of Akatsuka anime theme songs.
