The first season of manga ran for 10 volumes in Japan, and the second for 14. The series was also published in America. An anime adaptation aired in early 2008, and a second [[OddlyNamedSequel season]] titled ''Rosario + Vampire [=Capu2=]'' aired later that year. The anime is noticeably LighterAndSofter than the manga; entire arcs are reduced to single episodes, the drama is played down, and the {{Panty Shot}}s are played ''way'' up. Both seasons have been licensed by Funimation.

Season 2 ended in 2014 with 72 chapters, with an epilogue released in April.
