** Reika is pretty much this, in that despite having played football for only ''two months'' she was able to surpass Mai who trained with Kunimitsu pretty much ''[[HardWorkHardlyWorks all her life]]'' and go toe-to-toe and ''win'' against the best players in their region.
** Kunimitsu is definitely this. A two-time [=MVP=] in the Japanese under-15 national tournaments and considered one of the best junior male football players in the country. As a high school boy he is able to carry the Kijikita boys' football team to dominance, and at the same time coach a ragtag bunch of cute schoolgirls into a formidable team capable of beating the best teams in the region with more seasoned coaches with far more experience than he has.
* AcademicAthlete : Reika has the best grades on the team and has competed in many sports in middle school, including judo, gymnastics, and tennis, the last one wherein she came second in the Japanese under-15 national tournament.

* AttackAttackAttack : Kijiyama North's (Kijikita) attacking midfielder Mitsu Kurodate's general mentality, to the point that she flat out refuses to play defense.

* BattleAura : Mishiki's "Jaina's World" boosts her already insane physical stats to drive out anyone foolish enough to get between her and the goal.
* ButNotTooForeign : Jaina-Airi Mishiki is Japanese-American.

* ConflictBall : When Reika got injured and had to sit out the rest of the match against Seirin High School FC leading 5-0, Kunimitsu [[BridalCarry bridal carried]] her to the dugout for treatment, sparking the GreenEyedMonster within everyone in Kijikita, destroying their focus and allowing Seirin to come back into the game with 4 straight goals. It took quick thinking from assistant coach Konori Shindou to avert an epic collapse.

* DrillSergeantNasty : Mishiki does ''not'' suffer incompetence among her teammates.
* EnemyScan : Kijikita right center back Yuika Mashiro's knowledge of the human anatomy allows her to detect her opponent's movements and track them down, but she needs to get up close and personal to do so. It will not work if she gets distracted by her muscle fetish.

* FlashStep : The Kijiyama Union grade school football coach uses this move to utterly destroy the trio of Reika, Amane, and Takenou. She even seems to be outright ''phasing'' through them as she passes the ball to her young players. Turns out this coach is none other than [[spoiler: Riria Konbaru, the true team captain of Kijinan.]]

* FriendOrIdolDecision : The entire motivation for Kijinan to win the regional championship and qualify for the national championship one last time. [[spoiler: Their captain Konbaru dreams of becoming a grade school teacher, and plans to retire from football after graduation to fulfill her dream, even if it means Japan losing one of its best junior female players in her generation, if not '''THE''' best.]]

** Seirin team captain Aya Kurusu refuses to go down even when her team is down 0-5 against Kijikita, and sure enough, manages to score 4 straight unanswered goals when Reika got injured and had to sit out.

* PowerCopying : Mai has the ability to copy another player's abilities, but her version will be weaker than the original. This explains why she was able to pick up football so easily despite never having played in an official match before. After training for so many years with Kunimitsu, she was able to copy his skills subconsciously. However, she ended up being only about half as good as he is (at least as of right now), surpassed only by [[TheAce Reika]] who has just played football for only ''two months''.

** Chapter 37 shows a reference to the Japanese national women's football team winning the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, which inspired Makishi to play football. In addition, her favorite player from the Japanese team is Sawai, who may be based on 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup MVP Homare Sawa.
