* SenpaiKohai: Koutarou Hibino worked under Rinko Akaishi when they were traveling biologists, and he calls her "sempai" in the present. Koutarou is also an HonoraryUncle to Rinko's daughter Kuroe, and is actually one of the few people Kuroe is on friendly terms with (the fact that he's one of the few people who knows about Kuroe's InvoluntaryShapeshifting also helps).

* LoveYouAndEverybody: Nagiko claims that any affection Arata shows Kuroe is an example of this. Later, though, Arata defies this trope, noting that while he does try to treat everyone kindly, he was unintentionally hurting Kuroe by not showing that he saw her as special. Also, Nagiko and her lackeys had not only seen Arata and Kuroe HoldingHands the previous day, a few hours earlier they had heard Arata confess that there was someone he liked while aiming a LongingLook at Kuroe; the girls were clearly in denial and invoking this as an excuse to mistreat Kuroe.

As she's about to open the door for him, she suddenly sees in a mirror that her monstrous dorsal spikes have ripped open the back of her dress. Kuroe frantically runs into her clothes closet, which is infinitely big but full of drawers and boxes with nothing in them, leading her to tell Minami that she can't go out. Not hearing a response from Minami, she opens the door and doesn't find him, instead seeing a hazy silhouette of Akae, and then she breaks down sobbing over her inability to find a cute outfit. It takes a CooldownHug from Minami (both in the dream and in real life) to snap her out of it.]]

* EvilMakeover: Kuroe's 'heartbroken form' checks a lot of the boxes. Her eyes adopt a glassy look with cracks or lightning bolts splitting her heart-shaped pupils in half, her body becomes even more thorny-looking than when she normally transforms, and the heart-shaped segment of her dorsal fin gains a pair of horns and crackles with energy rather than gently glowing like when she's happy. However, it's worth noting that "evil" is not a strict requirement of the transformation, so much as "extreme emotional turmoil"; [[spoiler: the first time it happens, she nearly loses herself and decides to wreck Destinyland, thinking that if she can't find love as a human girl then she'll live like a kaiju. However, in subsequent appearances of the form she's far more in control of herself and less destructive, if no less depressed.]] Interestingly, it's only shown up as a PartialTransformation so far, so it's unknown what effect (if any) this transformation would have on her full kaiju form.
