Dark Skinned Blond is no longer a trope

* DarkSkinnedBlonde: [[https://www.mangahome.com/manga/akkan_baby/v01/c000/130.html Mika]], although this is probably invoked, as she appears to be be following the ganguro style (which involves tan skin, exaggerated brightly colored makeup, and dyed blonde/bleached hair).

* DeconstructedTrope: Puni and the drama related to him. Along with showing just how hard it is to take care of a baby as two 16-year olds, it shows that not all teen couples think like Shigeru and Yuki and see teen pregnancy as something exciting. To most, it's actually frightening and not something that every teen is (or would be) ready for. This is seen with Puni's mother Mika, [[spoiler: who becomes completely stressed out because she was afraid to tell Shigeo about being pregnant, balloons in weight due to eating to cope with the stress and eventually tries to abandon Puni]] like a lot of teen mothers do (especially, when, unlike the main couple, they don't have any help/resources).

* MakingLoveInAllTheWrongPlaces: Yuki and Shigeru initially start having sex because they accidentally stumble upon Rui and Nina having sex in the bushes and decide that they want to try it. They continue having sex, but unlike their idols, neither of them know what contraception is (much to the horror of anyone that asks them). It's no real surprise that Shigeru gets pregnant.

* RealityEnsues: With pretty much everything. Justified, as the entire series is all about the two main characters learning about teen pregnancy.

*** In one particularly misguided attempt to take care of Puni, Shigeru and Yuki pile up a mountain of futons on him in order to keep him warm. He stops breathing and they have to take him to the hospital, where they're rightfully chewed out by an angry doctor for such a stunt.
*** Later, when Mika admits she [[spoiler:intended to abandon Puni]], Yuki does ''not'' take kindly to this, especially after having grown so attached to him.
** After taking care of Puni, Shigeru and Yuki think that's proof that they can handle a kid and are confident that they can tell Shigeru's parents that they want to have the baby. Shigeru's father expectedly objects to this [[spoiler:and then runs away]], with her mother telling them that taking care of a baby for just a few days is obviously different from taking care of one for your entire life.
** Turns out that when a school falls into delinquency, changes will be made. The board won't just accept it as is, [[spoiler: which is why the principal comes dangerously close to losing her job when the school becomes a chaotic hellhole.]]
*** [[spoiler: Also, teachers won't want to teach in an environment where they have no control over the students, which is why a lot of them resign and make it impossible for the principal to re-instill any control over the growing anarchy because she's just one person.]]
