While some of them factor into their plan, such as Emerald and Mercury attending the school dance to make sure no one leaves who can potentially catch Cinder while she infiltrates the CCTS, others seem to just be them enjoying themselves, like watching some of [[TournamentArc Vytal Tournament]] fights, complete with Mercury having a big bowl of popcorn for the occasion.
