Links to works that don't yet have pages will thus show up as red. However, they'll automatically shift to blue when the page is created, so don't be afraid to link to works this way -- it makes it easier for when someone eventually [[Administrivia/WorksPagesAreAFreeLaunch writes it up]].

Sometimes a link is blue when the specific page referenced does not exist. This is because the same page title exists in a different Administrivia/{{namespace}}. Clicking on such a link will take you to an automatically generated disambiguation page. Since the link is therefore technically valid, it won't be red.

red. - no longer true after a site update, links to non-existent pages now show up as red even there are pages in the same namespace

When a [[{{wick}} wikilink]] is made to a page that doesn't exist yet, the link text appears in red, as opposed to the blue (or green in Night Vision) used for normal wikilinks. ItLooksLikeThis.

Sometimes a link is red when the page does exist. This is usually because a page in a different Administrivia/{{namespace}} with the same title has been {{cut|list}}, making the redlinking thingamajig think that no pages with that title exist. To fix this, just edit the page.

Sometimes, Tropers will make redlinks without even intending to pothole! This is because the markup assumes every use of [=CamelCase=] is supposed to be a link. This can be a pain when trying to talk about, say, the SpeedChat function in an online game. In order to fix links like that, put [=[=this=]=] markup around the word. So SpeedChat becomes [=SpeedChat=]
