->''"Oh, it's a beautiful dress! Did you ever see such a beautiful dress? And look, glass slippers."''
-->-- ''WesternAnimation/{{Cinderella}}''

Some characters have quirky, fancy, or otherwise unusual footwear, which the narrative makes a point of mentioning. If pimped out enough, it can even be an ImpracticallyFancyOutfit (especially if there are high heels).

Can overlap with TrickedOutShoes if the shoes have special functions as well as being pimped out.

A SubTrope of CostumePorn, and SisterTrope to PimpedOutDress, PimpedOutCape. HighHeelPower is a special case where fancy shoes make a woman appear feminine and sexy in an assertive way.

[[folder:Advertising]]
* Green of the ''Advertising/MAndMs'' wears a classy pair of go-go boots.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Anime & Manga]]
* ''Manga/AyakashiTriangle'': Matsuri wears shoes styled to look like the ''tabi'' socks associated with {{ninja}} such as him. They have spiral patterns on the bottom, in reference to his [[BlowYouAway wind powers]]. He actually wears the same pair of shoes to school and for his exorcist ninja outfit, and even the sandals he wears otherwise have the same specific sole design.
* ''Manga/CaseClosed'':
** Conan himself has his red super sneakers. They are not only TrickedOutShoes that stimulate his feet with electronic pulses, they are also quite stylish. Whenever the story involves Shinichi, there is also something to be said of his navy sneakers.
** There's a case in which ''ganguro'' girls were attacked [[spoiler: (fatally, in one occasion)]], and one of the hints was how all of them wore ''really'' pretty white platform boots, which were very popular back then. [[spoiler:It turns out that the dead girl ran over and killed a little boy ''because'' she was wearing said boots while driving, so the kid's maddened father started chasing after girls who wore similar footwear to beat them up in revenge. And one of these girls was ''Sonoko'', who had nothing to do with the case but had exactly the same boots on - it took Conan's deduction skills and a huge BigDamnHeroes from Megure to stop the madman and rescue her.]]
* In ''Manga/DreamEaterMerry'', the ActionGirl lead [[CuteMonsterGirl Merry Nightmare]] wears a cool-looking pair of black platform shoes, which has [[SigilSpam the same closed-eye sigil]] that's on her hat and ImpossiblyCoolClothes.
* In an episode from the Netherlands arc of ''Anime/HanaNoKoLunlun'', Lunlun meets a corrupt [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klomp klomp]] maker whose clogs look gorgeous and are quite affordable, but suffer of ''terribly'' low quality. She decides to unmask his bad business ethics to "save" potential customers from wearing shoes that look super nice, but are risky to use.
* The {{gender flip}}ped version of Prussia in ''Webcomic/HetaliaAxisPowers'' wears a ''really'' nice pair of white boots.
* ''Anime/KillLaKill'': the outfits of the Kamui include very nice high heels, including Lady Satsuki and Ryoko Matoi [[spoiler:as well as REVOCS President Ragyo Kiryuin]]. Ryoko's main outfit also includes a very nice pair of white sneakers, both Nui Harime and Nonon Jakuzure have very nice boots on their outfits (especially with Nonon's Marching Band Regalia).
* An early story by Creator/NaokoTakeuchi, ''Miss Rain'', has a beautiful pair of shoes as its MacGuffin. They belong to the mysterious SchoolIdol "Miss Rain", who turns out to be the junior high student Rena Kuramitsu; her ''senpai'' Kei Furukawa sees her drop her shoes as she runs away from a ball, then realises who she is, and reveals that Rena is "Miss Rain" by having her put them on...
* In ''Anime/MobileFighterGGundam'', Chibodee wears pretty cool red sneakers that are obviously modelled after the red Converse All-Stars.
* ''Manga/MoriartyThePatriot'': After faking his death as Irene Adler and assuming his new identity, [[spoiler:James Bond]] wears [[https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EnpzGkOXcAAZsN3?format=png&name=small platform shoes]] to help disguise his height.
* In ''Manga/MyHeroAcademia'', Izuku Midoriya's red-and-white sneakers are his IconicOutfit and he's almost never seen without them. They're somehow able to take whatever punishment he puts them through, up to and including using One For All at 100% on his legs. They also mesh nicely with his hero costume and even earned a vote on the popularity poll. His second hero costume upgrade (named Costume Gamma) adds special power-reinforcing iron soles.
* In ''Anime/{{Noir}}'', Kirika's rather distinctive pink shoes have received a degree of MemeticMutation among fans, and they're also the first clue that [[spoiler:she was the one who killed her partner Mireille's family 10 years ago]] since she wore nearly identical ones back then and TheReveal is shot from the feet up.
* ''Manga/OnePiece'': As a thief, Nami went with practical and rather plain boots, but when she put that life behind her, she traded them for a preference toward wearing glamorous-looking high-heeled sandals, a holdover from her days of wearing sandals in a tropical environment growing up, along with her adoptive mother and sister and practically the rest of the islanders. However, she'll mix it up every so often with some other fancy footwear, including boots.
* ''Manga/PokemonAdventures'' has plenty of characters with nice shoes. The ''Red and Blue'' arc has Red with his white sneakers with red stripes, Blue and Yellow have their boots, and Green has her high-heeled boots. The ''Gold and Silver'' arc has Gold's sneakers and Silver's boots. Much like the ''Escaflowne'' example, both are used to find them [[spoiler:when they're kidnapped by the Masked Man. Lt. Surge finds one of each of their shoes when he fishes their belongings from the Lake of Rage]].
* ''Anime/PokemonTheSeries'':
** The characters in the ''Pokémon'' anime have some very nice-looking shoes. [[Anime/PokemonTheOriginalSeries The original series]] has Ash's black, red and white sneakers, mentioned prominently in the song "Type: Wild." Misty has her red sneakers with lightning bolts on them, and Brock has his navy sneakers. Gary has his strap-on boots, and even Team Rocket has some. Jessie has her high-heeled thigh-high boots and James has his boots.
** Khaos (see the Fan Works folder below) has also employed the trope with a few of the later characters, particularly Jasmine's sandals from the Johto series, Roxanne's ankle-strap D'Orsay flats from the ''[[Anime/PokemonTheSeriesRubyAndSapphire Advanced Generation]]'' series, and [[Anime/PokemonTheSeriesDiamondAndPearl Dawn's]] pink boots when not in her ''[[VideoGame/PokemonDiamondAndPearl Platinum]]'' outfit. Dawn's case in particular plays a role in two cases of Dawn-based characters having high-heeled boots as their main pairs (the second case based hers off the more in-universe justified one).
* Pretty much obligitory for the ''Anime/PrettyCure'', where each MagicalGirlWarrior goes into battle wearing ImpossiblyCoolClothes, each with a pair of platform boots (''[[Anime/FutariWaPrettyCure Futari Wa]]'' to ''[[Anime/YesPrettyCure5 Yes Precure 5 GoGo]]''), or [[CombatStilettos high heel boots]] (each since ''[[Anime/FreshPrettyCure Fresh]]'').
* In the ''VideoGame/PuyoPuyo'' anime, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AbLhnQbmEjM this episode]] focuses on Rulue noticing Arle's new boots, [[note]] And Rulue gets angry because of this.[[/note]] so Rulue demands Minotaurus to make her new boots. Minotaurus does so, and although the boots were not a great color, Rulue likes the boots and she runs off to show Arle.
* Bel from ''Manga/Reborn2004'' has a pretty badass pair of white boots, with black laces.
* ''Franchise/SailorMoon'':
** The Senshi's outfits include personalized footwear. Rei/Mars's red CombatStilettos (which [[AllWomenLoveShoes shoes lover]] Creator/NaokoTakeuchi states as her favorite), Michiru/Neptune's blue/green pumps with laces and Hotaru/Saturn's elaborate purple boots with black laces are among the nicest.
** The ''very'' {{camp}} villain Tiger's Eye wore damn fine knee-length black boots.
** In an episode of the first anime, Mamoru got Usagi a pair of '''extremely''' pretty [[Literature/{{Cinderella}} glass slippers]] as a birthday gift. Too bad these were "laced" with a Daemon...
* ''Anime/RedLine'': {{Badass Driver}}s JP and Sonoshee wear cool boots with stylish zippers and bulbous toes. Several other racers wear distinctive footwear, and their feet dominate intense [[PedalToTheMetalShot Pedal-to-the-Metal Shots]]. It's like the foot equivalent of {{Gainaxing}}.
* ''Anime/TheVisionOfEscaflowne'' : Hitomi's white sneakers with black accents. One episode even has Van use it as a clue to find her when she gets kidnapped (her shoelace broke and she dropped her shoe on the stairs as she was taken away).
* ''Manga/YuGiOh'': Jounouchi's grey and black sneakers got a whole chapter devoted to them when they were introduced. The sneakers are very rare, but Jounouchi got them for a bargain price after winning in a test of courage. However, soon after he got them, a group of sneaker hunters beat him and his friends Yugi and Honda up and steal his shoes. He immediately got revenge and beat ''them'' up. It turned out that the shoe salesman hired the sneaker hunters to re-sell them again and again. Atem challenged the shoe salesman to a Game of Darkness, using the sneakers, coins and the salesman's own scorpion as game components. However, the greedy salesman soon tried to stab his scorpion with a knife and attempted to grab all coins from the sneakers, but he was unable to pull his fist out. LaserGuidedKarma kicked in and he got stabbed by his own pet. Atem/Yugi retrieved the sneakers from the salesman, and despite there is now a hole in one of his shoes, Jounouchi keeps it as a memory. Since then, the sneakers are part of every of Jounouchi's outfits, and he is rarely seen without them.
** This trope doesn't officially return to the franchise until ''Manga/YuGiOhSevens'', with Romin Kirishima's red-and-black t-strap high heel pumps of her main outfit.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Comic Books]]
* The eponymous ''ComicBook/{{Hilda}}'' is almost never seen without her big red boots.
* Envy Adams from ''ComicBook/ScottPilgrim'' has a seemingly endless supply of fancy high-heeled boots. They even come up as a plot point in a flashback when she sells her Anime paraphernalia to pay for a pair, highlighting how she and Scott are growing apart. Much is made over the fact that Kim actually wore a pair of nice heels to The Clash At Demonhead's gig. She ends up taking them off halfway through.
* ''ComicBook/WonderWoman1942'': Diana is quite attached to the tall red and white heeled boots she wears as Wonder Woman and goes to great lengths to get a good cordwainer to make her a new pair after they get stolen and left on Titan while fighting the Saturnians.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Fan Works]]
* Fanfic/KhaosOmega is really into using this trope.
** Jet (based on Khaos himself) has two particularly well-known-in-universe pairs; both are high heels, the lower of which Khaos himself owns. That lower-heeled pair is often dubbed his go-to wedding heels while the other, higher heels are his iconic Ice Star red stiletto pumps. The latter even has the Rainbow Angel Series mandating them numbered after Jet's pre-2039 XQ agent number (07).
** Jet's sister Hollie also has a few pairs that especially meet this trope; of three total, two are high heels. One (a stiletto ankle-strap sandal with flip-flop-style thongs) is an in-universe creation by in-universe character XJR while the other two (a wedge-heeled sandal and a pair of silver flip-flops) are pairs the character's basis has worn in real life. The outer side of the left shoe's wedge has a small trail of blood on it from the serious injury that led to Hollie becoming the original Empress of Speed.
** Despite Anise being known as a serious slut for hot shoes (high heels in particular), it's her teammate Lily who has the more iconic shoes of their Rune Angel team in the form of a black platform stiletto ankle boot she mainly wears locked on.
*** Some girls have special "fusions" of their original shoes and Lily's main ankle boots; color (and length as seen with Dawn's fusion) come from the other pair in the equation. Confirmed so far are a dark purple for [[VideoGame/DeadOrAlive Ayane]], a studded pair with pink soles and spikier grey heels for [[VideoGame/PokemonSwordAndShield Marnie]], and the aforementioned pink knee-high for Dawn.
** Jasmine Levesque is the only case of a character using ''Franchise/{{Pokemon}}''[='s=] Jasmine as a base to not use the sandals from her Gold/Silver look as this, instead combining the design and extreme nature of Jet's Ice Star heels with the color and primarily-locked-on method of wearing of Lily's ankle boots.
*** Jasmine's main teammates Ava Johnson and Danaerys Azeat also apply with extreme-heeled black ankle-strap pumps of their own, but in the forms of a Devious Femme-12 and Karo 0255 respectively.
** Anastasia Brayton and Hikari Azeat primarily wear platform stiletto peep-toe boots. Anastasia actually got her blue knee-highs because she was originally intended to be an Anise alias and Anise only wears boots when they're high heels, and Hikari based her own pink thigh-highs on them.
** Then there's Rosa Copeland, who has a serious collection of strictly lace-up thigh-high ballet boots. Justified in that they were the heels her ability to easily handle wearing them despite her serious lack of experience with high heels in general manifested in. She actually foresaw the possibility of a Rainbow Angel Series mandating a collection of thigh-high ballet boots named for her and had the designs be strictly-zip-up to better accomodate two lockable straps over the zippers. At least she prefers to be able to bend her knees in her pairs...
** ...Because former Dark Vector girl Doven especially loves hers too tight for that. Jet actually planned for that aspect by banning ballet boots from being wearable with a CleavageWindow-sporting catsuit based on her old Cipher uniform's bodysuit, which already had a requirement for pink thigh-high boots to begin with.
** Anzu Mazaki (Khaos always uses her Japanese name), like in canon, has her two pairs of platform sandals and the associated thigh-highs. More colors for the platform sandals exist in the Khaosverse (pink and amethyst in particular are described), and some individuals have been shown wearing pants and frilled ankle-socks instead of the fully-shown thigh-highs.
*** One case even has the white thigh-high and blue platform sandal on one side, and the red-and-black combo on the other. Anise intentionally invoked this case (the platform sandals here have wedge heels) by wearing white and blue to add two girls in black and red to her personal harem.
** After her non-wrestling appearance at the 2018 Royal Rumble, Khaos has taken to giving any version of WWE's Wrestling/AlexaBliss some shoe based on the black wedge pumps.
*** One case didn't get them, and this girl in thigh-high ballet boots was planned before the wedge pumps' reveal.
** Much like the case of the two females where Anise intentionally invoked the case of an Anzu Mazaki variant sporting both of her canon color combos simultaneously, some Rainbow Angel females are former pornstars and their iconic shoes come from their days as such. The times of Anise wearing the black stiletto pumps of one with said wearer's Khaos-iconic partner for dom/sub intimacy actually has Anise add said wearer's name as an additional middle name. Another one, so submissive a maneuver in 2146 came as a major shock to someone whose top 1000 list for said maneuver didn't include her inspired two Series, one of which the pre-wedges planned Alexa variant landed in.
** And then there's Kandyce Azeat, who's worn her pair of Jet's go-to wedding heels for so long that when she converted to an overall Beta in the Rainbow Angels' roster the harem's spell for keeping non-Prime Series girls in their Series-mandated shoes transferred from one of the many padlocks from the cuffs she had until then used to keep her pair on to the heels themselves. Anise eventually found a way to deactivate that limiter, which is then confirmed by one of her Amethysts to stay off citing improved effectiveness on missions for Kandyce.
* ''Fanfic/TheRodSquad'' puts ''WesternAnimation/ChipNDaleRescueRangers'' into TheSeventies--and Gadget into platform shoes. Then she dresses up and [[ImpracticallyFancyOutfit needs a crane to heave herself into her shoes]].
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Films — Animation]]
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Cinderella}}'': Cinderella is given glass slippers by the Fairy Godmother. Not only do they look pretty, they later are essential to the plot as she loses one and the Prince later uses it to find her. And Cinderella had taken a precaution by keeping the one she didn't lose should the other one break (which thanks to her stepmother did).
* In ''WesternAnimation/{{Frozen|2013}}'', Elsa [[GorgeousGarmentGeneration changes her coronation dress]] into AnIceSuit, complete with high-heeled snowflake shoes.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Films — Live-Action]]
* Ali in ''Film/{{Burlesque}}'' ogles a pair of incredibly sparkly heels.
* Multiple characters in ''Film/ByHookOrByCrook'' remark on Shy's brogues. A waitress in a roadside diner compliments his [[SharpDressedMan suit]] but disapprovingly asks "what's with the shoes?", a transient in San Francisco remarks, "You've got two incredible shoes, and they match each other!", and his new friend Val compares them to "butterscotch brownies."
* ''Film/Cinderella2015'' has the gleaming crystal-like glass slippers, which also have a golden butterfly on the toes.
* [[TheBaroness Rosa Klebb]], villain of the ''Film/JamesBond'' movie ''Film/FromRussiaWithLove'', hides poison daggers in the toes of her sensible shoes.
* ''Film/FrightNight2011'': Several characters comment on Charlie's sneakers, a cool pair of puce high tops with velcro bands. He wears them as part of his attempt to distance himself from his nerdy past.
* ''Film/ImGonnaGitYouSucka'': After getting out of prison Fly Guy returns to being a pimp. He wears elevator shoes with miniature goldfish aquariums in the heels. When one of his shoes breaks and the fish spill out on the ground, they flop around a little bit.
* ''Film/IRobot'': In the film version, Detective Spooner wears a "classic" pair of [[ProductPlacement Converse]] tennis shoes (circa 2004, when the movie came out).
* ''Film/JemAndTheHolograms2015'': Creator/JulietteLewis wears a pair of Delman Pointed Toe D'Orsay Pumps that get a considerable amount of close-ups.
* In ''Film/JojoRabbit'', Rosie Betzler's distinctive leather shoes are her IconicItem, and they're given a lot of focus. [[spoiler:They're used for a GoryDiscretionShot when Rosie is hanged by the Nazis for being a part of LaResistance; they're at eye level when her son, Jojo, finds her body.]]
* Murat in ''Film/TheManWhoSavesTheWorld'' has a pair of golden boots made from melting down his golden sword. One would presume this is supposed to be important, but like everything else in this movie it makes no sense and is never explained.
* [[SpecialEffectFailure Though not meant to intentionally be seen by viewers]], Reptile wears Otomix brand athletic shoes during his fight with Liu Kang in ''Film/MortalKombatTheMovie''. [[note]]These are often thought to be Nikes, which played into why fans took note of this oversight in the years following ''Mortal Kombat''[='s=] release, as there's a "real ninjas wear Nikes" meme surrounding ''VideoGame/FinalFight''[='s=] Guy in his ''Franchise/StreetFighter'' appearances. See the Video Games folder below.[[/note]]
* In ''Film/PacificRim'' (which has something of a shoe {{motif|s}}), Hannibal Chau flaunts his wealth with gold-plated dress shoes. They jangle like spurs any time he moves, and they get plenty of screen time. They also get referenced in the very last line of the movie, [[spoiler:when [[StayingAlive a very much alive]] Hannibal crawls out of the dead Kaiju's stomach and yells "Where is my goddamn shoe?!"]]
* Inverted in ''Film/TheSilenceOfTheLambs'' when Hannibal Lecter contrasts Clarice Starling's "good bag and cheap shoes".
* Denny Colt in ''Film/TheSpirit'' favors Converse sneakers.
* ''Film/Tremors6AColdDayInHell:'' Valerie wears a pair of cowboy boots made from Graboid skin that was originally a gift her dad gave her mom.
* ''Film/TheUnbearableWeightOfMassiveTalent'' has a scene in which Javi and Nick stall [[spoiler:orders to kill each other]] by trading shoes. Javi gives Nick his brown suede Gucci loafers, which he comments look nicer on his idol than on himself. Nick gives Javi his taos taupe checkerboard Vans slip-ons, which both men agree suit Javi well. A promotional interview with [[Creator/PedroPascal Javi's actor]] also vouches for the powder blue sneakers he wears in some earlier scenes.
* Creator/KathleenTurner in ''Film/VIWarshawski'' keeps a pair of red high heels in a box at a bar for... safety?
* ''Film/TheWizardOfOz'' features the Ruby Slippers -- which were silver in the book, but didn't show up well on film, so they had to change them.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Literature]]
* In the ''Literature/SixteenThirtyTwo'' novel series, the sneakers some Americans wear (in 1630s Europe) receive more than a little comment from 1630s Europeans. The dress shoes worn by Michael Stearns get admiring attention from Rebecca Abranel.
* ''Literature/{{Cinderella}}'', with the glass slippers (although some versions make them fur-lined, which still fits this trope).
* Creator/IsaacAsimov's ''Literature/DavidStarrSpaceRanger'': On Mars, men (and presumably, women) wear hip-boots of the most riotous possible color combinations. David wears black-and-white boots, while Bigman (whose boots are chartreuse-and-vermilion) mocks him for their plain appearance. Bigman [[SpottingTheThread sees through David's disguise]] because of it.
--> ''"And you're the only farmboy I ever heard of that was willing to wear simple black and white."'' -- '''Bigman'''
* Several characters in ''Literature/{{Discworld}}''.
** Nanny Ogg once wears red boots as a ShoutOut to Oz.
** Granny Weatherwax is well known for her tough old and well-worn boots.
** Sam Vimes is a variation; his boots are always old and battered even when he can afford much better ones, but he's proud of the old cardboard-soled ones because he can feel the street through them and figure out where he is by the feel of the pavements.
** Adora Belle Dearheart wears Mitzy "Pretty Lucrezias", which with their four-inch spiked heels are generally agreed to be the most dangerous footwear on the Disc.
* In ''Literature/{{Holes}}'', one of the very first things Stanley notices about the Warden, aside from her [[EvilRedhead red hair]], is her black cowboy boots with turquoise stones decorating them. [[spoiler:In a flashback to Kissin' Kate Barlow's death, we find out that they were actually ''her'' boots first--after she died, the Warden's family took her cabin, and everything in it.]]
* Subverted in Creator/HansChristianAndersen's "The Red Shoes", where the titular red shoes are very nice indeed, but the little girl who wears them is cursed to dance without stopping because she is too vain to go without them, and she ends up having to have her feet chopped off so she doesn't die of exhaustion.
* In one of the ''Literature/{{Redwall}}'' books, Logalog sings a comic ballad about a shrew whose fancy shoes get stolen by an owl.
* The plot of Scott Westerfield's ''Literature/SoYesterday'' revolves around a pair of these.
* In ''Literature/TheWonderfulWizardOfOz'', Dorothy has the silver slippers, which she uses to get back home to Kansas. She uses a magic belt in later books.

[[folder:Live-Action TV]]
* ''Series/DoctorWho'':
** Three and Four both talked about their shoes shortly after regenerating. Justified as they both kept the TARDIS key in one of them.
** The Fourth Doctor wears a pretty fabulous pair of old-fashioned golf shoes in [[Recap/DoctorWhoS13E6TheSeedsOfDoom "The Seeds of Doom"]], which receive a lot of attention in a sequence where [[RebelliousSpirit he puts his feet on someone's desk]]. He would later wear a pair of roll top riding boots.
** The Fifth Doctor wore a pair of modern sneakers with an otherwise [[TheEdwardianEra Edwardian]] cricketer's uniform.
** As ever, it was Sixie who got it wrong, with a pair of snot-green boots and violently orange spats to not match.
** The Seventh Doctor favoured an elegant pair of two-tone brogues.
** The Eighth Doctor had a brief moment of excitement over his shoes.
--->'''The Doctor:''' These shoes! ''[does a happy dance]'' They fit ''perfectly!''
** Ten's multiple Converses.
** In [[Recap/DoctorWhoS29E6TheLazarusExperiment "The Lazarus Experiment"]], the Doctor compliments Martha on her shoes while crouched down working on [[ReversePolarity reversing the polarity]] of an anti-aging device.
** River Song sports a pair of red Christian Louboutin heels in [[Recap/DoctorWhoS31E4TheTimeOfAngels "The Time of Angels"]] which later [[FreezeFrameBonus show up]] in UNIT's Black Archive in [[Recap/DoctorWho50thASTheDayOfTheDoctor "The Day of the Doctor"]].
** Twelve's Loakes and Dr. Martens boots.
* ''Series/{{Firefly}}'': River was known to tromp around in combat boots when she wasn't running around barefoot.[[note]]Creator/SummerGlau suffers from arthritis in her feet and normal shoes cause her too much pain. She said the boots actually give her the support without pain.[[/note]]
* In ''Series/HowIMetYourMother'', Ted meets a girl at a wedding reception, but they use only nicknames. When he later tries to find out who she is, they call the bride so ask if she remembers the girl. She asks what shoes she wore -- Ted remembers they were brown with sparkling snowflakes. The bride says they sound cute, but she doesn't know her. Robin however realizes she met a girl with shoes like these and knows she made a cake for the wedding. That's how Ted met Victoria.
* ''Series/ItsAlwaysSunnyInPhiladelphia'' has Charlie Kelly's pair of vintage Vans Sk8 His; black suede with red inner lining, red soles, and a white foxing stripe, which are occasionally shown off when he puts his feet up. Somewhat subverted as they appear to be Charlie's only shoes, appearing in every episode and really show it, with the sole textures wearing down, and large holes creeping up in the worn out heels as time goes on.
* The fabulous mood changing red shoes in "The Wonderful Wizard of Buzz Issue" episode of ''Series/TheLatestBuzz''.
* ''Series/LawAndOrderSpecialVictimsUnit'':
** In one episode, the detectives get a search warrant to look for a pair of shoes that left a distinctive footprint at the crime scene. They don't find them until the suspect comes home wearing them. The last line of the episode is Detective Stabler saying: "Nice shoes."
** The episode "Tortured" involves a dead woman dressed up as a prostitute, complete with some ''very'' chic boots... and one foot missing. [[spoiler: The long explanation involves a college student borrowing a prototype from a house of fashion, then getting mugged by a guy with a ''very'' unhealthy foot fetish. He then escalates, forcing the victim -- who came to his apartment by mistake -- to model for him before getting way too personal...]]
* In ''Series/TheMightyBoosh'', London fashion icon and occasional WholesomeCrossdresser Vince Noir is never seen anywhere without a pair of really nice ladies' boots, often with large heels. The knee high black boots in Strange Tale of the Crack Fox had the highest heels he ever wore in the show and were absolutely MASSIVE, making you wonder how he was able to run from danger and jump out of high-up openings without falling over.
* Series/{{Mister Rogers|Neighborhood}} has some pretty nice sneakers.
* ''Series/OneLifeToLive'''s Blair and her current boyfriend break into her ex-husband Todd's office to steal information, [[JanitorImpersonationInfiltration disguised as custodians]]. Todd notices them as they're leaving and does a DoubleTake upon noticing that one of them is wearing a beautiful pair of high-heeled pumps (obviously not what a cleaning woman would normally wear). When she later visits him to pick up their daughter, he recognizes the shoes and realizes that she was spying on him and slyly compliments her-"Killer shoes, by the way." She thanks him, never realizing that she's been caught.
* ''Series/SchittsCreek'': Alexis and Moira regularly wear fabulous heels and/or platform shoes. David often sports some pretty fabulous sneakers.
* ''Series/TheTwilightZone1959'': In "[[Recap/TheTwilightZoneS3E83DeadMansShoes Dead Man's Shoes]]", Dane wore a very expensive and distinctive pair of two-tone black and white shoes before he was murdered. When Nate Bledsoe puts them on, Dane's personality takes over his body. [[spoiler:After Dagget kills Dane, the same thing happens again when Chips puts on the shoes.]]
* Ryan Stiles got [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tq9slPefZwM a lot]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uv9Ai00eByU of jokes]] made about his taste in shoes in ''Series/WhoseLineIsItAnyway''.

[[folder:Music]]
* "Crep Hype" by British rap trio Foreign Beggars is an ode to these.
* Part of the Music/LeningradCowboys' trademark outfit are shoes that are as long and pointy as their hairdos.
* Music/{{Lit}}:
** Lead guitarist Jeremy Popoff a custom made pair of shoes that were black with white flames on them. He was so attached to the shoes that he even wore them at his wedding (his groomsmen wore similar shoes but with the colors were reversed, making them white with black flames). In the music video for "Music/{{Miserable}}", after the giant woman eats him alive, she spits out one of these signature shoes.
** There's also the GiantWoman's shoes in the same music video, a pair of strappy, black platform heels.
* Music/{{Radiohead}}'s "There There" music video has Thom Yorke's walk through an unusual forest lead him to a tree holding a pair of glowing leather boots (later revealed as SprintShoes), which he attempts to steal as replacements for his tackier-looking red and white sneakers. The forest proceeds to subject Thom to several punishments, taking the boots back, and trapping him in the woods.
* "My Adidas" by Music/RunDMC:
--> Now, me and my Adidas do the illest things\\
We like to stomp out pimps with diamond rings\\
We slay all suckers who perpetrate\\
And lay down the law from State to State\\
We travel on gravel, dirt road or street\\
I wear my Adidas when I rock the beat\\
On stage, front page, every show I go\\
It's Adidas on my feet, hi-top or low
* Music/SteamPoweredGiraffe have [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PT2hUsu3tmQ a song]] about a particularly fancy pair.

[[folder:Mythology]]
* Myth/ClassicalMythology: Hermes' pair of winged sandals.
* Myth/NorseMythology: On Ragnarök, Vidar, son of Odin, kills the Fenriswolf by stepping into his mouth and ripping his jaw apart. He's protected by special leather boots (made from the leather stripes thrown away by the shoemakers).

[[folder:Professional Wrestling]]
* When he was doing his Iraqi sympathizer gimmick in the [[Wrestling/{{WWE}} WWF]] during the first Gulf War, Wrestling/SgtSlaughter was quite proud of his curled-toe wrestling boots, supposedly a gift from Saddam Hussein himself.
** Boots with curled toes are normal for wrestlers from the Middle East. Wrestling/TheIronSheik and Wrestling/AbdullahTheButcher were known for wearing them.
* When wrestling in the ring, Wrestling/AJLee would wear knee-high Converse Chuck Taylors in competition. When not in competition, she would wear regular high tops or ankle-high Converse All-Stars. One of her promos even mentioned them, with a jab at the others preferring various high heels outside of competition (AJ is a noted tomboy compared to the others).

[[folder:Video Games]]
* As an obvious pun, Pendles the sneaky professional assassin snake man from ''VideoGame/{{Battleborn}}'' wears a dope pair of sneakers for sneaking. Said sneakers have a subtle squeak regardless of terrain.
* Played with in ''VideoGame/BravelyDefaultII''. Adelle's sandals aren't special per se, and even noted in-universe to be worn out. She nonetheless likes them as they were a meeting gift from Elvis.
* Only referenced but not shown in ''VideoGame/DragonAgeOrigins'' by Leliana. She's quite okay with traveling and camping in the cold and wet wilderness of Ferelden, even though she's really at home in the {{Decadent Court}}s of her homeland. But the worst thing about it is clearly the lack of nice shoes that go with a PimpedOutDress. Shoes are SeriousBusiness!
-->'''Leliana:''' I once drank a thimble of dwarven ale. Woke up a week later in Jader wearing nothing but my shoes and a towel.
-->'''Leliana:''' Oh? You... like shoes, do you?
-->'''Leliana:''' It'll be fun, I promise! We'll get some shoes too! Ah, shoes! We could go shopping together!
-->'''Leliana:''' I saw you looking at that girl in town earlier. You know, the one with the... with the shoes!
-->'''Leliana:''' Orlais is very fashionable, almost ridiculously so. ...but the shoes!!! When I left Orlais, the fashion was shoes with delicate tapered heels and embellishments in the front. A ribbon perhaps, or embroidery. In soft colors of cause, it was spring. I had my eye on a pair my shoemaker was working on. It was covered in pale blue silk with ember beads on the toes.
* ''Franchise/FinalFantasy'':
** In ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyVIII'', Rinoa's slingback ballroom pumps with closed, pointed toes and ''double'' ankle straps are likely custom-made due to her being from a wealthy family, and have been the bane of many a cosplayer. They get plenty of close-ups, which are justified as most of them come from the dance sequence.
** ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyXIII'' offers Lightning's knee-high strap-covered combat boots and Vanille's [[PrettyInMink fur-trimmed]], turned-up, square-toe cowboy boots. And yes, both get occasional shots of said shoes for no particular reason other than varying camera angles.
* There's no shortage of cool footwear in ''VideoGame/GuiltyGear'', like I-No's red thigh-high boots and Jack-O'[='s=] sleek black pumps that look a lot like [[Manga/SailorMoon Sailor Venus's orange ones]].
* ''VideoGame/HonkaiImpact3rd'':
** Seele wears a very nice pair of [[https://gamepedia.cursecdn.com/honkaiimpact3_gamepedia_en/7/70/Anniversary_Ball_%28B%29.png?version=91b3044a1c93b7450b0510dfb37e6c14 high heels]] in her Anniversary Ball outfit.
** Kiana Kaslana's alter ego form Herrscher of the Void wears an elegant pair of [[https://www.deviantart.com/cruisn/art/Honkai-impact-3rd-Parasol-kaiserin-812927314 high heels]] in her Parasol Kaisein outfit.
* ''Franchise/KingdomHearts'':
** Xion in ''VideoGame/KingdomHearts358DaysOver2'' has some rather nice pointy-toed heels that get at least one close-up shot. Also applies to Larxene in that both Xion and she are the only two members of Organization XIII to have higher heels on their boots out of femininity.
** Likewise, Roxas instead of wearing boots like all other members, wears bulky black sneakers styled akin to how Sora's shoes are.
* ''VideoGame/MetalGearSolid3SnakeEater''. Snake compliments the shoes of the old soviet scientist Granin by literally saying "Nice shoes". Granin cites this compliment as the reason he's giving him valuable intel. [[spoiler: Turns out another spy wired the shoes.]]
* Tracer's running shoes in ''VideoGame/{{Overwatch}}''.
* ''Franchise/{{Pokemon}}'':
** Each of the Trainers wear nice-looking runners in each game, and in ''VideoGame/PokemonXAndY'', one can even buy different pairs of shoes, as part of Kalos' fashion trend. In the same game, they can double as [[TrickedOutShoes roller blades]] since not far into the game, you can attach roller blades and go faster.
** Cynthia, the Champion of Sinnoh in ''VideoGame/PokemonDiamondAndPearl'', wears black [[HighHeelPower high-heel boots]] with a yellow stripe to go with her black BadassLongcoat, showing her to be quite classy [[DarkIsNotEvil though benevolent]]. (Though this is DependingOnTheArtist, since her in-game sprite is not detailed enough to confirm her wearing heels, though most official art of her shows them.)
** ''VideoGame/PokemonSunAndMoon'' continue the trend of players being given nice shoes at the outset, as well as being able to buy other kinds of footwear in the various shops in the Alola region. Other examples include the white sneakers worn by members of Team Skull, with the leader Guzma and admin Plumeria even having their own kicks to signify their rank. Gladion has a pair of red sneakers for his role as enforcer. The members of the Aether Foundation also have some very nice white shoes, with President Lusamine having a pair of open-toed high heels with gold accents.
** ''VideoGame/PokemonSwordAndShield'' again feature players having nice shoes to start out with, with not only being able to buy more from the shops in the Galar region; but the NonUniformUniform of the Gym Challenge also includes many kinds of high tops [[ColorCodedForYourConvenience that match the color scheme of each gym leader]]. Other examples include the high tops worn by Galar Champion Leon as well as the punk boots worn by Team Yell ([[spoiler:whose members are later revealed to be the gym trainers of Spikemuth]]) and the rival Marnie. The gym leaders Allister and Melony (both exclusive to ''Shield'') also have very sleek white boots. [[spoiler:Nessa also wears red high heels with a PimpedOutDress when not on the battlefield, as shown on her rare League Card.]]
* ''VideoGame/PunishingGrayRaven'': Lucia in her summer coating [[https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/punishing-gray-raven/images/3/3c/Coating-Plume-Alt2.png wears a pair of high heels and a tropical light blue dress.]]
* The [[BeastMan Caninu and Felineko]] of ''VideoGame/{{Solatorobo}}'' wear shoes that have a bump pattern on the sole [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gPqr8yA2PME that leaves pawprint-shaped marks.]]
* ''Franchise/SonicTheHedgehog'':
** Much was made of Sonic's [[ProductPlacement Soap]] shoes in ''VideoGame/SonicAdventure2'', and the Grinding ability that came with them. Sonic, however, has always had distinctive red/white shoes, since it's the only thing he wears (besides a pair of gloves).
** Shadow, meanwhile, has hoverjet-equipped white and red shoes [[ShoutOut that look identical to]] Franchise/{{Gundam}} feet. May or may not be his actual feet as [[DependingOnTheWriter by some accounts]] he's a cyborg in addition to being genetically engineered.
* The various Squid (and Octo) Kids in ''Franchise/{{Splatoon}}'' have an array of colorful sneakers, flop-flops, loafers, etc. available to wear, thanks to shopkeepers like Crusty Sean and Mr. Coco. This footwear even has attached abilities that aid in those Turf War battles they love so much.
* ''Franchise/StreetFighter'':
** Guy, [[{{Transplant}} originally from]] ''VideoGame/FinalFight'', is often noted for his sneakers, which he wears with his HighlyVisibleNinja uniform. This has resulted in a [[MemeticMutation meme]] stating, "Real ninjas wear Nikes!"
** Fellow Bushin ninja Maki (from ''Final Fight 2'') also switched to sneakers for her appearances in ''[[VideoGame/CapcomVsSNK2MarkOfTheMillennium Capcom vs. SNK 2]]'' and ''[[VideoGame/StreetFighterAlpha Street Fighter Alpha 3]]''. Perhaps her brother-in-law's fashion choices rubbed off.
** Along with her school uniform, Sakura Kasugano wears a snazzy pair of red Converse All-Stars when she participates in street-fighting tournaments. They're traded in for black mid-calf boots in ''VideoGame/StreetFighterV'' (as Sakura now works part-time at an arcade), but return as part of Sakky's [[IconicOutfit Nostalgia Costume]].
** Guy's [[VitriolicBestBuds best friend and rival]] Cody sports [[LawyerFriendlyCameo what appears to be]] a pair of Adidas Superstar come ''Alpha 3''. Unlike Guy's Nike Dukes (which were first shown off in ''SFA''; he instead wore ''[[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jika-tabi jika-tabi]]'' in his very first appearance), it's implied these were part of his attire back in the original ''Final Fight''.
* ''Franchise/SuperMarioBros'': The major human girls of the series (Peach, Daisy, Rosalina, and Pauline) each wear a very nice pair of colorful and matching pumps in their normal attire. Peach's are either light pink or a magenta/red, Daisy's are orange, Rosalina's is silver to match her silver crown, while Pauline's are distinct ankle-strapped black pumps. Peach and Daisy have been shown to possess other pairs of nice pumps for other outfits, such as their doctors' outfits from ''Dr. Mario World'' (both have white pumps), along with two of Peach's outfits from VideoGame/SuperMarioOdyssey (namely those VideoGame/MarioKartTour identifies under the "Vacation" and "Wedding" codenames; both are also white (justified for the "Wedding" variant as white high heels are standard for brides), with the "Vacation" variant's pair looking like a white version of Pauline's).

[[folder:Webcomics]]
* Konami from ''Webcomic/{{Consolers}}'' wears blue and pink boots with [[VideoGame/DanceDanceRevolution DDR]] arrows.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Web Original]]
* ''WebVideo/CJDachamp'' lampshades this throughout his videos. According to CJ, Black Air Force energy is said to come off from everyone wearing solid black shoes. When people in ''Manga/TokyoRevengers'' show up in all-black shoes, CJ takes it as a sign that everyone should be worried, since all of them are TheDreaded based just on their footwear.
* ''WebAnimation/HomestarRunner'':
** In the "Powered by the Cheat" short "New Boots", the Cheat wears a pair of cowboy boots with dollar signs embroidered on them. [[HerCodeNameWasMarySue Strong Bad and Homestar both feel the need to compliment him on them]].
** In the WebAnimation/StrongBadEmail "extra plug", Strong Bad orders a pair of "Old Fatty's 'Lectric Boots" in the mail, which are covered in flashing lights. [[VeryFalseAdvertising They're not as cool as they first seem to be]] since the allegedly "whisper quiet" cooling fans make a ton of noise, and the lights suck up so much power [[BigBlackout they cause a blackout in Strong Bad's house]].
* Linus of ''WebVideo/LinusTechTips'' wears socks under sandals. He insists that they're superior to full shoes.
* ''WebAnimation/LongGoneGulch'':
** Teenage sheriff Rawhide wears a stylish pair of navy blue boots with white decals.
** Her partner Snag sports a pair of black high tops that resemble Converse All-Stars.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Western Animation]]
* In ''WesternAnimation/AaahhRealMonsters,'' [[SadistTeacher the Gromble]] wears red high heels on his four feet. The Gromble is male, incidentally.
* Maggie's punk boots in ''WesternAnimation/TheBuzzOnMaggie''.
* Dexter and [=DeeDee=] from ''WesternAnimation/DextersLaboratory'' have interesting pairs of footwear. Dexter has his black boots that tend to make a scratching noise when he walks. [=DeeDee=] has her pink ballet shoes which usually make a squishing sound when she walks.
* Murdoc Niccals of ''Music/{{Gorillaz}}'' is notoriously proud of his Cuban-heeled boots and almost always wears them even when wearing nearly nothing else. According to the biography, ''Rise of the Ogre'', he was deeply annoyed by Damon Albarn upon first meeting him, because:
-->''The first thing Damon said to Murdoc, pointing down at his boots, was "Your Cuban heels are crap. Look, mine are the proper sort." Damon was wearing a pair like Murdoc's, but with fancy gold spurs and solid silver heels.''
* Sid's Beatle boots in ''WesternAnimation/HeyArnold''. There's also the Nancy Spumoni Snowboots from "Arnold's Christmas" which every girl in town wants for Christmas. Helga's mother spends an entire day waiting in line to get the very last pair.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Hilda}}'' has her big red boots. She also has similar looking boots for her winter attire and school uniform.
* ''WesternAnimation/JonnyQuest'' wore [[http://www.andykortman.com/images/retro-images/pf-flyers.jpg PF Flyers]], even appearing in commercials for the shoes.
* Luan Loud's shoes from ''WesternAnimation/TheLoudHouse'' stand out from the rest of her family's in that they are brown slip-on shoes with a pink squirt flower on each.
* Florence from ''WesternAnimation/TheMagicRoundabout'' sports a pair of white laced ankle boots in a vintage "Babybotte" model where it has the trademark heel blocks at the back of her boots. The post-2005 CGI era has her ankle boots in beige with the heel blocks connected to the soles in a tan color.
* On ''WesternAnimation/MiloMurphysLaw'', [[BornUnlucky Milo]] doesn't wear shoes, but slippers. WordOfSaintPaul [[http://imaginashon.tumblr.com/post/152451809257/hey-there-i-love-ya-art-and-i-really-enjoying-mml says]] that they're the old fashioned, durable kind, and that he wears them because, with [[HereditaryCurse Murphy's Law]], he doesn't wear anything with shoelaces.
* Say what you want about ''WesternAnimation/MyLifeMe'' and [[UncannyValley its notorious character designs]], but one can admit how cool [[OccidentalOtaku Birch]]'s black punk shoes with purple laces look. Also, her cousin Liam also wear black Converse-looking shoes with green laces.
* Many female characters of ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyEquestriaGirls''. Highlights go to [[{{Nerd}} Twilight Sparkle]]'s black dress shoes, [[{{Tomboy}} Rainbow Dash]]'s knee-high boot version of sport shoes or ([[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyEquestriaGirlsFriendshipGames in the third movie]]), [[TookALevelInKindness Sunset Shimmer]]'s black knee-high high-heel boots.
* Candace Flynn from ''WesternAnimation/PhineasAndFerb'' wears a pair of white Mary Janes which matches her red and white ensamble.
* The ''WesternAnimation/RawToonage'' short "My New Shoes" (a parody of Run D.M.C.'s "My Adidas"; see the Music folder above) is about a kid with TrickedOutShoes with so many bells and whistles, he starts to worry his shoes are cooler than he is.
* Kimi's purple cowgirl boots in ''WesternAnimation/{{Rugrats}}''.
* Phantasma's white high heeled boots in ''WesternAnimation/ScoobyDooAndTheGhoulSchool''.
* Disco Stu in ''WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons'' has shoes with goldfish in the soles. Unfortunately, the fish are dead, because he can't take them out or feed them.
* ''WesternAnimation/SouthPark'':
** In the episode "The List", [[spoiler:a group of girls fakes a list that says Clyde is the cutest boy in the class so they can date him and get shoes]].
** Even [[BrainyBrunette Wendy]] is distracted by one particularly cute pair of shoes.
* ''WesternAnimation/SpongeBobSquarePants'', as TheOneWhoWearsShoes (not when Sandy is wearing her suit or when Spongebob is with a minor character who also wears shoes), wears black leather loafers, which helps add to his dorky personality, especially with the squeaky sounds as he walks.
* Star Butterfly's boots in ''WesternAnimation/StarVsTheForcesOfEvil''. Her mother also has some nice-looking boots that are usually hidden by her dress.
* Most of the characters in ''WesternAnimation/TeenTitans''. Robin has steel-toed boots designed to look like Chuck Taylors, Beast Boy has Velcro sneakers with paw-print soles, and even Cyborg has some pretty cool-looking feet. Glen Murakami had this to say on the character designs:
-->"I just didn't want them [[HeroicBuild super-buff]] like the WesternAnimation/JusticeLeague characters. I wanted them to have a clumsy quality about them. And like all teenagers, they would really be into footwear. Big clod-hopper shoes. That's why I gave [Robin] the metal [steel-toe] combat boots."
* ''WesternAnimation/WanderOverYonder'':
** Lord Hater, the show's main antagonist, is a living skeleton who can shoot lightning and punch someone with enough force to send through a planet. He also wears high-tops, hidden by that black-and-red cloak he wears. They're even lampshaded by Wander on at least one encounter.
** Dominator wears a pair of black, Converse-like high tops when she's shown as a teenager-like young girl.
** Wander himself also has a very nice pair of navy-and-black shoes that he wears on his travels.

[[folder:Real Life]]
* Music/ElvisPresley and his Blue Suede Shoes, which themselves were [[CoveredUp originally]] Carl Perkins' Blue Suede Shoes.
* Music/{{KISS}} wore some outlandish shoes.
* Music/EltonJohn wore some gigantic shoes as The Local Lad in Music/TheWho's ''Music/{{Tommy}}''. He even took the part on the condition that he got to keep them afterwards. Prominently featured in his LicensedPinballTable, ''[[Pinball/CaptainFantastic Captain Fantastic And The Brown Dirt Cowboy]]''.
* Due to his short stature, Music/DoctorSteel wore platform boots. On one occasion, they had lights in the soles.
* Clown shoes, always ridiculously oversized and often bright red.
* Converse Chuck Taylor All-Stars are one of the most iconic sneakers ever made (just look how many times they're referenced on this page alone!).
* Lolita fashion has [[http://community.livejournal.com/egl/13085249.html Rocking Horse Shoes]] (originally designed by Vivienne Westwood), which can have platforms up to eight inches high! It also has a variety of chunky Mary Janes, tea-party flats, and, in the fashion icon [[CrossDresser Mana's]] case, hooker heels. But it's just Mana who wears those. But he can get away with it, because he's AWESOME.
* Music/WeirdAlYankovic has an [[http://i2.cdn.turner.com/money/galleries/2009/fortune/0904/gallery.kowitt_obsessions.fortune/images/gsegal_vans1.jpg impressive collection]] of Vans sneakers.
* [[UsefulNotes/FerdinandMarcos Imelda Marcos]] owned ''thousands'' of shoes, and it became so well known that it was, among other things, referenced in a DLC item for ''VideoGame/TheSims3'' called "Immaculate Marcos". A number of them have sadly been [[https://newsinfo.inquirer.net/279648/employees-blame-museum-execs-for-decay-of-imelda-marcos-gowns-shoes left to rot]] though.
* Traditional Mongolian boots manage a layered look, being waterproof, being able to keep people warm in winters of -40F, and [[http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8166/7637803394_7107669309_z.jpg have highly intricate and colorful patterns]] on them. Normal Western boots are referred to in colloquial Mongolian as plain boots, which, by comparison, is pretty much true.
* [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Jane_(shoe) Mary Jane shoes]], named after the ''ComicStrip/BusterBrown'' character of the same name.
* French-Egyptian fashion designer Christian Louboutin is well-known for designing high-heeled pumps with red lacquered soles, with which Louboutin fiercely protected the trademark to.

* ''Manga/CaseClosed'':
She decides to unmask his bad business ethics to "save" potential customers from
Simply wearing shoes is not a trope on its own. Here's a list of tropes that look super nice, but are risky to use.
"Nice Shoes" may apply to:

They also mesh nicely with his hero
CostumePorn: Flamboyant costumes and/or costume and even earned a vote on the popularity poll.
* ''Anime/PokemonTheSeries'':
* ''Franchise/SailorMoon'':

[[folder:Fan Works]]
* Fanfic/KhaosOmega is really into using this trope.
** Jet (based on Khaos himself) has two particularly well-known-in-universe pairs; both are high heels, the lower of
descriptions, which Khaos himself owns. That lower-heeled pair is often dubbed his go-to wedding heels while the other, higher heels are his iconic Ice Star red stiletto pumps. The latter even has the Rainbow Angel Series mandating them numbered after Jet's pre-2039 XQ agent number (07).
** Jet's sister Hollie also has
may apply to a few pairs that especially meet this trope; of three total, two are high heels. One (a stiletto ankle-strap sandal with flip-flop-style thongs) is an in-universe creation by in-universe character XJR while the other two (a wedge-heeled sandal and a pair of silver flip-flops) are pairs the character's basis has worn in real life. The outer side of shoes.
* MeaningfulAppearance: When
the left shoe's wedge has a small trail of blood on it from the serious injury that led to Hollie becoming the original Empress of Speed.
** Jasmine Levesque is the only case of
way a character using ''Franchise/{{Pokemon}}''[='s=] Jasmine as a base to not use the sandals from her Gold/Silver look as this, instead combining the design and extreme nature of Jet's Ice Star heels with the color and primarily-locked-on method of wearing of Lily's ankle boots.

* [[SpecialEffectFailure Though not meant to intentionally be seen by viewers]], Reptile wears Otomix brand athletic shoes during his fight with Liu Kang in ''Film/MortalKombatTheMovie''. * Creator/IsaacAsimov's ''Literature/DavidStarrSpaceRanger'': On Mars, men (and presumably, women) wear hip-boots of the most riotous possible color combinations. David wears black-and-white boots, while Bigman (whose boots are chartreuse-and-vermilion) mocks him for

Peach and Daisy have been shown to possess other pairs of nice pumps for other outfits,
magic and/or technology, such as their doctors' outfits from ''Dr. Mario World'' (both have white pumps), along with two of Peach's outfits from VideoGame/SuperMarioOdyssey (namely those VideoGame/MarioKartTour identifies under adding weapons or other fighting capabilities to them.

If a direct wick has led you here, please correct

** Her partner Snag sports a pair of black high tops that resemble Converse All-Stars.

* In ''WesternAnimation/AaahhRealMonsters,'' [[SadistTeacher the Gromble]] wears red high heels on his four feet. The Gromble is male, incidentally.
* Maggie's punk boots in ''WesternAnimation/TheBuzzOnMaggie''.

* Phantasma's white high heeled boots in ''WesternAnimation/ScoobyDooAndTheGhoulSchool''.

* ''WesternAnimation/SouthPark'':
* ''WesternAnimation/WanderOverYonder'':

** Jet's sister Hollie also has a few pairs that especially meet this trope; of three total, two are high heels. One is an in-universe creation by in-universe character XJR while the other two (a wedge-heeled sandal and a pair of silver flip-flops) are pairs the character's basis has worn in real life.
** Despite Anise being known as a serious slut for hot shoes, it's her teammate Lily who has the more iconic shoes of their Rune Angel team in the form of a black platform stiletto ankle boot she mainly wears locked on.
*** Some girls have special "fusions" of their original shoes and Lily's main ankle boots; color (and length as seen with Dawn's fusion) come from the other pair in the equation.
