* ''Literature/GoblinSlayer'' presents a rare heroic example, at least within the logic of the story. A great deal of writing goes into explaining why goblins are savages whose extermination is both moral and rational, mainly by taking genocidal rhetoric used in real life and simply making it true. For starters: the whole race is inherently violent and evil, down to the children; they breed rapidly, meaning they can quickly overrun communities if swift action isn't taken (and governments often don't take the threat goblins pose seriously enough to do it themselves); they breed by kidnapping and raping women from the civilized "prayer" races; any goblin that surrenders and begs for mercy is lying to get the drop on you; and so on and so forth, therefore the only option is to wipe them out wherever they're found, no GenocideDilemma here. The only moral nuance that goblins ever receive is an acknowledgement that the prayer races' efforts to destroy them is a major factor in their own hatred of civilization.

* We see an example in ''Literature/GoblinSlayer'' that is not only a rare heroic example but an EXTREMELY JUSTIFIED ONE. The end goal of the titular character is to completely exterminate the goblin race without so much as a second thought, even going so far as to mercilessly slaughter goblin children to accomplish this. While there are some morality problems with this world view, the fact that goblins are [[AlwaysChaoticEvil Always Chaotic Evil]] in this setting who RapePillageAndBurn everything they come across with sadistic glee that are actually starting to become a serious problem in the countryside through sheer numbers and the fact that nobody else wants to deal with them makes it very hard to argue against hunting them to extinction.
