Among his inventions, a suit of PoweredArmor equipped with numerous weapons and a rocket pack (yes, fans have noted the similarity to ComicBook/IronMan). Nick isn't really sure he wants to take up the superhero mantle, but a group of his friends decide to revive the League, and Nick in turn dons his grandfather's armor.

As a part conventional SuperHero story, part ComingOfAge story, ''Legion'' is highly effective. Its big selling points are its sense of humor and its very effective pacing. CliffHanger endings are not uncommon, but this is okay due to the timely update schedule.

* LaserSword: Captain Commando's sword isn't a lightsaber, but it might as well be.

* [[BreatherEpisode]]/[[VacationEpisode]]: Breather is pushing it since there are steaks in the arc, but "Three" is mostly about Nick taking a break from everything happening at home to go play with his friends in L.A. during spring break.

* JetPack: Newer models can apparently carry enough fuel for 3 hours flight. It's best not to [[YouFailPhysicsForever look at the Physics]] in some of the devices in LegionOfNothing.

* HowToGiveACharacterSuperpowers: A nice range. Many of the heroes have genetic powers that [[PubertySuperpower emerge in puberty]] (Night Wolf, Night Cat), some have had them since childhood (Accelerando) and some gain them by other means (Captain Commando it stated as having "had surgery for normality" and Storm King zapped himself with the [[McGuffin Power Impregnator]]).

* ElaborateUndergroundBase: Nick mostly used the League HQ, complete with [[ObstacleExposition ridiculous security measures]] to watch [=DVDs=] and play GuitarHero before the League was reformed.

* PsychicPowers: [[MyNaymeIs Mindstryke]], the Mentalist and the Mystic all have the full range of [[MindOverMatter Telekinetic]], [[TelePathy Telepathic]], [[TheEmpath Empathic]], MindControl and [[CombatClairvoyance Scrying abilities]]. Some others like Portal, Julie frome Justice Fist, Justice Fiend and [[FailOSuckyname Psy-Kick]] have more limited powers.

* DishingOutDirt: Earth from the Elementals, who seems unbeatable until [[spoiler:he is lifted off the ground.]]
