* AliensSpeakingEnglish - In one episode, a gathering of aliens is revealed to have adopted an Earth language due to it being so primitive that every advanced alien species is able to translate to and from it...but the language is German instead of English.
** English is still known, but used more for backroom deals, and only known by the less rule-abiding species.

''[[http://http://www.slightlywarped.com/justicesquad/ Justice Squad]]'' is a WebSerialNovel that follows the adventures of a team of superheroes as they try to save the world from all sorts of strange and kooky dangers.

Essentially, a satire of the then-current animated Superhero shows, written in Script Format to better imitate the medium.

A SpinOff of TheLiamSmithShow, itself a satire on the traditional sitcom.

Consisting of five 'seasons' of episodes, as well as annual 'movies', it is now complete, having ran from 2002 through 2007.

* BroughtToYouByTheLetterS - For those that aren't just a stylized symbol:
** Ultrawoman: A small golden 'UW' as a belt buckle
** Sea Man: A white 'S' as a belt buckle...which looks suspiciously like something else.
** Capeman: His Star-in-a-Circle chest insignia opens on one side to form a 'C'.
* ChestInsignia - Almost every hero on the team has one:
** Capeman: A yellow circle, with a purple five-pointed star inside of it.
** Nightflyer: A bright pink equilateral triangle (pointing downwards) on both his chest and Utility Belt.
** Cosmic Weasel: His later costume had a golden lightning bolt, extending from his left shoulder down to the right side of his waist.
** Luna: A yellow crescent moon.
* CaptainGeographic: Shows up on Ivy's top (the Union Jack), as well as the uniforms of Justice Squad Europe.
* CivvieSpandex: Also displayed by some of the members:
** Cosmic Weasel: His early costume had a leather jacket over his plain brown spandex.
** Wolfman: Black leather pants, and a sleeveless green, red, and gray shirt.
** Luna: Had both a Xena-esque warrior outfit, and a black catsuit under a BadassLongcoat.
* DominoMask: Worn by both Capeman and Ultrawoman.
* LeotardOfPower: Satirized by having the outfit being worn by a large, somewhat overweight, male.
* NonPoweredCostumedHero: Nightflyer, being an {{Expy}} of {{Batman}}, acts as one of these.
* SpandexLatexOrLeather: Having had a large cast, all three have shown up on one character or another.
* SuperheroesWearCapes: While these show up on a number of characters, Capeman (being a {{Superman}} {{Expy}}) uses it as his defining feature.
* UnderwearOfPower: As befits the satire, worn by those who are an {{Expy}} of a superhero character that traditionally wears one (such as Nightflyer for {{Batman}} or Capeman for {{Superman}}).
* UtilityBelt: The {{Batman}} {{Expy}}, Nightflyer, wears one.
