** The Great War saw this happen all over the place. France in addition to losing all its colonial possessions, saw a scenario not unlike [[KaiserreichLegacyOfTheWeltkrieg Kaiserreich]] with the loyalist government retreating to its last colonial holding in Tunisia, while a Collectivist state rules in the mainland. In addition, Saxony-Bavaria, Jugoslavia, and after its civil war Russia, gets this same treatment, and that only covers the European nations.

* UsefulNotes/TheBritishEmpire: Subverted, the Empire, while is influential, is less so compared to rival France and the Netherlands.

* UsefulNotes/TheFrenchColonialEmpire: Is not significantly gutted as a result of TTL's UsefulNotes/SevenYearsWar (titled the Four Years War.) However, they do end up losing Louisiana and their African bases, and they're ultimately gutted at the end of the Great War.

--> “...the Prussian king’s horse bolted suddenly, whether from a noise or some other occurrence may never be known, and Frederick was tossed from his saddle. The king’s retinue could only look on in stunned horror as the monarch’s head smashed into a rock and his lifeless body sprawled out on the road. The great Frederick II was dead.”

The year is 1757, and the world is [[SevenYearsWar engulfed in war]]. [[FrederickTheGreat Frederick II, King in Prussia]] and his army some 36,000 strong met an Austrian army more than double it's size near Leuthen in Silesia, once used by the Prussians as a training ground. Historically, Frederick rallied his forces, and soundly defeated the Austrians, saving Prussian Silesia.
