The group actually has a bit of history. The group was originally called The Golden Spider Hawks, and [=YouTuber=] ryanhawkrider was also in the group. However, ryanhawkrider left the group to do his own work, and thus The Golden Spider Hawks was abandoned. After a few days, Mr Tingle Gamer Edition and The Real Golden Gamer came up with the idea to make a new channel called The Midnight Guys. Although The Golden Spider Hawks is now a defunct group, the channel is still on [=YouTube=], and the Web site is also still up. Even The Golden Spider Hawks' Facebook page is still open.

At one point, The Real Golden Gamer had plans with [=YouTuber SheepSlime=] of Elderly Gaming to manufacture a rivalry between The Midnight Guys and Elderly Gaming for pure comedy value. However, [=SheepSlime=] opted out of this idea at the last minute.

The Midnight Guys' channel is no longer in use, as of August 27th, 2012. The Midnight Guys are, at this time, a defunct group, because LetsPlay/TheRealGoldenGamer is busy working on Deadman Wonderland The Abridged Series ''and'' Bleach The Abridged Series, while Mr Tingle Gamer Edition is busy working on Let's Play Pokemon White.
