* NeverSplitTheParty: In Season 13 [[spoiler: Pakratt]] splits off from his team after finding a [[spoiler: desert temple]] this in turn causes [[spoiler: Sethbling]] to search for him resulting in [[spoiler: Pakratt's death during episode 1]]
** Inverted in Seasons 19 and 21
** Season 19's gimmick involved 2 teams of 10 where spreadplayers was without respect to teams starting the season out alone and ending [[spoiler: ending with a lopsided Last Stand]]
** Season 21's gimmick involved people teaming up with the first person they found. Players typically expect in UHC for either teams or individual events. as a consequence [[spoiler: Pakratt0013, Pyro_0, and VintageBeef]] never found a team.

Added DiffLines:

** During Season 21 [[spoiler: Pakratt0013, Pyro_0, and VintageBeef]] never found a team and thus this was a solo season for them.

* MyFriendsAndZoidberg: In Season 10, Episode 9, [[spoiler: Avidya]] going over what teams were left in the game.

** And again in season 13, episode 3:
-->[[spoiler:Sethbling: "Wow, there's like, not many people left. There's like, green, white and us. And Guude.]]
* {{Not My Lucky Day}}: In Season 8, nothing goes right for [[spoiler:Pakratt, his plan of making a nether trap initially failed when he couldn't find Ghasts or Creepers, then when he did, he accidentally blew it up.]] To top it off. [[spoiler:He was one of the only players to never find diamonds. However, that didn't stop him from making it to the final 2 and giving almost as good as he got against Etho.]]
** Then in Season 10, [[spoiler:Pakratt survives the massacre of the rest of Team PEP, but fails to find a Nether fortress (and thus ingredients for potions) and is killed by Doc while stuck in the crafting window.]]
** Guude [[spoiler:, despite having won four seasons of Ultra Hardcore,]] has also had some bad seasons as well. Season 8 starts with him [[spoiler:taking a Creeper blast immediately as the game starts, followed by somebody stealing his iron. He then sees Adlington, and despite getting the drop on him still manages to get killed.]] Then, despite having good luck in the seven episodes in Season 10, everything goes wrong in Episode 8. During a fight with [[spoiler:BTC and Vintage Beef, Baj gets killed quickly and Jsano shoots Guude's dogs, forcing him out of the fight. Guude only manages to kill BTC and Beef escapes, with Guude left at two hearts. In their next confrontation with Pause and MC, Guude and Jsano try to run away and dig underground but MC finds them. Guude hits Jsano's dog while trying to fight MC and Jsano's dog kills him, the first UHC team kill (albeit accidental).]]
** In Season 12, the mobs in first big cave found by [[spoiler:Anders and Guude]] results in the former's death and the latter getting knocked down to one and a half hearts. [[spoiler:Guude makes it through another episode before dying to a skeleton.]]
** Guude and his team have a fairly good start in Season 13, [[spoiler: that is, until team powerhouses Pause and Anderzel get separated while tracking another team and die to Pyro Puncher after killing the others. Pyro then drops Beef to half a heart when they go to finish him, and Beef goes down to a zombie a few minutes later, leaving Guude alone and nervous once more.]]

** In Season 14, [[spoiler: when Kurt and Mhykol go caving, Kurt runs into a witch, which poisons both of them, dropping Kurt down to a half heart by the end of the first episode.]]
** In Season 15, team Red SEA (Sethbling, Etho & Arkas) start off reasonably well. [[spoiler:But then, episode 3 happens. Arkas dies within the first five minutes to a creeper, and near the end of the episode, both Seth and Etho die through a PvP-encounter with the blue team.]]
** In Season 18, Guude's team [[spoiler: loses Aureylian in Episode 2 when a zombie knocks her into lava, causing her to burn to death just a few meters away from water. In the next episode, Pakratt gets poisoned by a Witch and gets dropped down to half a heart. * SerialEscalation: [[spoiler: Kurt]]'s increasingly horrific luck counts. The first inkling was in season 3, when he was about to smoke [[spoiler: Guude]] out, only to be foiled by a sudden rainstorm. Season 5 was probably the [[NeverLiveItDown the most infamous occurrence]], in which he got glitch-killed by his own wolves from full health and with a good set of equipment. Season 6 again featured him being killed by his own dog, this time due to its inherently evil nature. Season 7 transferred the bad luck to his partner [[spoiler: Zisteau]], who got repeatedly assaulted by mobs appearing out of nowhere, while [[spoiler: Kurt]] got to have a good death for once in battle. Season 8 upped the absurdity by killing Kurt [[spoiler: [[DiabolusExMachina when his internet connection failed]]]], and Season 9 became the most ridiculous example yet when Kurt became the first person in the history of not just Mindcrack UHC, but ALL OF MINECRAFT [[spoiler: to lose at full health]]. Then in Season 14 he [[spoiler: runs into a witch early on and gets knocked down to half a heart by poison.]] In Season 16 he [[spoiler: successful drops a lava bucket on Baj to quickly kill him, but the lava kills Kurt too]].
