The channel became popular from a Let's Play of ''VideoGame/PokemonVietnameseCrystal'' [[labelnote:*]] often called ''Viet Crystal'' [[/labelnote]], a BlindIdiotTranslation of [[VideoGame/PokemonGoldAndSilver Pokémon Crystal]] from UsefulNotes/{{Vietnam}}. Since then, they have branched out into Let's Plays and live streams of other games as well.

* BigNo: Used by Dubz in Viet Crystal when [[spoiler:Bert crashes the game by trying to sell Pointup]].

* BilingualBonus: Subverted during the Bootleg Bonanza. When they play the second Pokemon Gold cartridge, they accidentally come across a screen entirely in Japanese. Mysh attempts to decipher it, but concludes that it is just gibberish.
* BittersweetEnding: Viet Crystal. On one hand, it has been ended without the guys battling Red, or [[NoEnding without much of a conclusion at all even]]. On the other hand, the series spawned plenty of jokes, it helped get the channel off the ground, and it was all in all a fun ride.
* BleepDammit: Bert tried censoring some of his and Dubz's language in Episode 48 of Viet Crystal to help increase his chances of earning a [=YouTube=] Partnership. It didn't seem to help much, and most of the fans didn't like it, so Bert scrapped the idea for future episodes.
* BlindIdiotTranslation[=/=]TranslationTrainwreck: Viet Crystal of course.
** Bootleg Pokemon Green is another example, though arguably not as poorly translated as Viet Crystal.

* BuffySpeak: In Viet Crystal, Bert describes the poison symbol as a "snowman with two pieces minus the other side."
** In Chinese Emerald, Dezz tries to say a certain route is a dead end, but ends up saying it is "non-go-through-the-path."

* CallBack: Bert sometimes does this with Viet Crystal phrases.
** In Bootleg Pokemon Green, Tackle was called Go All Out. In Episode 48 of Viet Crystal, when Karen said "GO ALL OUT", Bert and Dubz joked that she was going to Tackle them.
** In the very first episode of Viet Crystal, Bert finds "A TV SET", which surprises him because it was actually translated correctly. In Episode 3 of Kanto, Bert finds the exact same text, which Dubz points out.
** A gag in Chinese Emerald invokes a call back to Viet Crystal:

** In part 11 of Chinese Emerald, they mention killing themselves in 1980, a reference to a previous Chinese Emerald video. The name of the trope is also mentioned.
* CallForward: During the 2013 Summer Stream, after [[spoiler:Mario Party 2 glitches up and "Slenderkoop" appears]], Dubz states that he is a [[Series/DoctorWho Timelord]] and can take everyone forward in time to the October Stream.
* TheCameo: Dubz and Juan in their Crash Bandicoot [=LP=].
** Dubz suddenly appears during Crash Bandicoot 2 Episode 8.
** AscendedExtra: Juan would return as a regular guest for the Crash Bandicoot 2 [=LP=].

Dubz, not confident in Dezz's abilities, creates a save state so he can try it without consequence. Afterwards, [[spoiler:they finally make it into the temple after several attempts, but Dubz fails to get the Mumbo Token inside. Because of this, he decides to reload the save state, undoing their progress.]]

* CrossPlayer: Thanks to a typo, they decided to play Viet Crystal as the female protagonist.

** Mysh prefers to play as Peach in Mario Party.

** Also happens in Chinese Emerald, to a lesser extent: Dubz is able to beat the Elite Four and save afterwards, but [[spoiler:the rom crashes on the S. S. Tidal, rendering him unable to do much of the postgame content]].

* DugTooDeep: [[InvertedTrope Inverted]] during the ''VideoGame/{{Terraria}}'' [=PVP=] match. They dug deep, but it wasn't until they tried digging back UP that they encountered their worst problems.
** They kept digging deeper and deeper into the second Pokemon Gold bootleg, and ended up finding the terrible bottom: [[EverythingIsRacist Racism]]!
* EarlyBirdCameo: In an episode from the first Viet Crystal session, Dubz received a text from Juan who would show up as a guest for later [=DeliciousCinnamon=] videos.
* EarlyInstallmentWeirdness: The first fourteen episodes of Viet Crystal were all one single 2 1/2-hour-long recording session, cut rather awkwardly into 10-minute segments. It wasn't until Episode 9 of Kanto and the start of the VideoGame/{{Crash Bandicoot|1996}} [=LP=] that they started making videos by the rule of one video per recording (occasionally splitting a recording into two or more parts in a less awkward fashion).

* EdibleThemeNaming: Viet Crystal gives us Eggie, Chedr, Pizza, Bean, Steak, Salsa, Feta, Sushi, Nuget, Twnke[[labelnote:*]]Twinkie[[/labelnote]], Pickl, Apple, Porge[[labelnote:*]]Porridge[[/labelnote]], [=BKMT=][[labelnote:*]]Bakemeat[[/labelnote]], BLBRY[[labelnote:*]]Blueberry[[/labelnote]], Cake and Oats.
** Somewhat ironic considering some of the Pokemon in Viet Crystal are even naturally named after food, such as Fork[[labelnote:*]]Beedrill[[/labelnote]], Corn[[labelnote:*]]Venonat[[/labelnote]], Milk[[labelnote:*]]Miltank[[/labelnote]], Jelly[[labelnote:*]]Tentacruel[[/labelnote]] and Bread[[labelnote:*]]Sandslash[[/labelnote]]. There is even a character referred to as "Wulnut."
** And let's not forget Green, which had Bacon, Tofu, Pepsi, Gouda and Lemon.
** And now Chinese Emerald gives us Kurdz, Kraut, and Taytr.

** During Viet Crystal, Bert and Dubz completely ignore the woman who gives them the [=HM=] Fly, then proceed to spend a good portion of the video wondering where they are supposed to get Fly.
** During an episode of Crash Bandicoot 2, Dezz ran into some boxes that he tried to break by spinning them. He tries '''23 times''' without success. He ended up just jumping over the boxes.
** The lost episodes of both Crash Bandicoot games highlight Mysh's "skills."
** [[SubvertedTrope Subverted]] during part of Viet Crystal. During the Elite Four battles, Bert guesses that Aerodactyl is [=Flying/Ground=], when it is actually [=Flying/Rock=]. Bert later mentions a comment someone made about it: "Flying AND ground? You guys are retarded." This caused more people to comment that [=Flying/Ground=] is a legitimate dual type, citing Gligar as a Pokemon with these types.
** During one of the Mario Party 2 streams, Bert plays Coffin Congestion and easily finds the item he wants, but doesn't get it because he can't figure out how to open the coffins.
** While playing Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, Dubz decides to eat something from his bag in order to make room for another item. He eats a Blast Seed, which causes an explosion that damages whatever is in front of the Pokemon that eats this. Dubz doesn't know this, nor does he know that he can damage teammates this way, so he ends up inadvertently killing [[spoiler:Boomish]].

* ExplainExplainOhCrap: [[InvertedTrope Inverted]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wB7ip34iK7c&t=20m50s here]], where Bert explains why Juan just did something wrong, only to realize nothing bad happened as a result:

* FlashbackCut: During an episode of Crash Bandicoot 2, when Dezz comments on a rat enemy that has been "equipped," Bert points out that he said the same thing in an earlier episode. Cue a cut to a clip from said episode showing Dezz saying the same thing.
** During an episode of Fallout 3, they question why they don't have any ammo for their flamethrower. Cue a cut to earlier in the video where Dubz is wasting the ammo on a sign.
* FlippingTheBird: During a corruption stream, one corruption of Super Mario World turns the exclamation point in "Mario Start!" to something resembling this.

* ForegoneConclusion: For part of the Raikou and Ho-oh episode of Viet Crystal: Anyone who watched Bert's solo livestreams would know going in that [[spoiler:Bert caught a shiny Poliwhirl and would use it to prank Dubz]].

** Early in the Platinum Nuzlocke, someone warns Dubz about the move Pursuit, which is more powerful when used on a Pokemon that is switching out. Sure enough, [[spoiler:this is what kills Boneitis]].

* FunWithAcronyms: Used by one of the livestream participants during a Mario Party 2 stream (see the LaughThemselvesSick entry below):

* GenreShift: For their Year of Streaming, they have made all of their major Let's Plays (except Chinese Emerald) livestreams. After doing several streams, they decided to mostly abandon [=YouTube=] (aside from future stream archives) in favor of becoming a mainly livestream-focused group.

* HellIsThatNoise: Dubz's microphone has tended to make some very strange sounds while he was playing VideoGame/{{Terraria}}:

* NotHisSled: In the Minecraft map ''Criswelvania'', the player(s) must go through a Nether portal and take on the final challenge. Instead, [[spoiler:Bert and Dubz stop before going into the portal and act out a skit where [[EvilAllAlong Bert turns out to be Dracula]]]].

* OverlyLongGag: The Episodes gag in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon.

* SwappedRoles: Bert is normally very skilled at the Crash Bandicoot games, while Mysh couldn't complete one to save his life. However, in the first episode of Crash Bandicoot 3, Bert dies 12 times trying to get a box gem, while Mysh completes a different level and gets the box gem without dying.
** For Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, Dubz and Moose switch roles when switching from Red Rescue Team to Explorers Of Sky.

** Noted in Crash Bandicoot 2, where during polar bear-riding levels Crash's ghost will be carrying the still living polar bear.

** During Fallout 3, Dubz takes a toy to his father and says "Take my childhood."

* ThisIsForEmphasisBitch: During the Spelunky livestream, Dubz ends a rendition of "When the Saints Go Marching In" with "Bitch."
* ThoseTwoGuys: The dynamic moved to this for a while after Dubz and Mysh became the heads of the channel.

* TooDumbToLive: Bert's methods of playing Pokemon Crystal have been rather questionable. In the earlier Viet Crystal, Bert would [[TheDeterminator refuse to go back to the Pokemon Center until all of his Pokemon have fainted.]] In later videos he has shown more knowledge of how to properly play the game... even though three of the Pokemon on his team are all Water types.

* TheUnfavourite: If it isn't Steak, Oudal or Price, any Pokemon caught in Viet Crystal eventually becomes this.
** Hushu becomes this to Bert before they even put it on the team.
* TheUnReveal: At the end of the 2016 Chat Meetup stream, no one admits to putting "Bert getting injured" for a picture of [[TakeThat a bleeding trash bag]] in Drawful 2. They suspect Dubz, but [[spoiler:he points out he was in the bathroom, meaning he couldn't see the picture and instead put "can't see nothing but my own dick."]]
