* CatFight: Averted, having two women fight each other won't spare them from gruesome injuries or even a brutal death.

* ContinuityLockout: Averted, each part is its own story and readers do not need to have read the previous ones to understand it, but doing so will spoil the previous parts.

* CiviliansAreIrrlevant: Particularly in "Stardust Crusaders", anyone who accompanies the heroes and is not a Stand user or [[InfantImmortality a child]] is likely to die to the hands of the VillainOfTheWeek. In most cases, they have nothing to do with the conflict except for being in the wrong place at the wrong time, or worse, coming to the aid of the heroes. Though it makes sense for the heroes to be more concerned with defeating the villains, as stopping to help the victims will likely get them immediately targeted, after it's over, they have a tendency to simply move on and forget anything ever happened. Part 4's Josuke Higashikata is notable for being an aversion; as a NiceGuy, his fighting style involves taking every effort to avoid any collateral damage to anybody, even if he harms himself in the process.

** To put it simply, Jonathan is a NiceGuy {{Determinator}} bound by the honor of a gentleman and never giving up. His grandson, Joseph is a GuileHero JerkWithAHeartOfGold who uses his wits to win against an enemy. Jotaro is an [[TranquilFury unforgiving]] PerpetualFrowner who varies from pummeling to cunning depending on his opponent. Josuke is [[HonorBeforeReason honorable]] and [[ThouShallNotKill doesn't kill his enemies]], but is also a [[TheGamblingAddict gambling addict]] who's got a BerserkButton with his hair. Giorno has a RobinHood streak and [[GoodIsNotSoft isn't afraid to fight ruthlessly with his enemies]]. Jolyne is a flighty, irresponsible [[TheHedonist hedonist]] looking for a thrill. Johnny is a stubborn and strong-willed cripple with a major InferioritySuperiorityComplex. Finally, "Josuke" is {{Adorkable}} with some brooding moments.

** Even [[TheLancer the so-called "JoBros"]] contrast immensely between themselves, as well. Speedwagon is an {{Adorkable}} LargeHam who doesn't engage in any fights (except for his introduction arc) throughout the series, [[MemeticMutation praises Jonathan's actions all the time]] and is mostly a CombatCommentator; Caesar is a hot-blooded [[TheCasanova casanova]] and a skilled Hamon fighter that has a FriendlyRivalry with Joseph; Kakyoin is sensitive, quiet and [[spoiler:[[FriendlessBackground had been lonely for most of his life]] until meeting the Crusaders]], as well as being a skilled strategist; Okuyasu is an outright ButtMonkey who dives headfirst into combat without even thinking, and has such a deep bond with Josuke that they can even ''telepathically communicate''; Mista is a superstitious, hot-headed [[TheGunslinger gunslinger]] who's faithful to Giorno; Ermes is a somewhat aloof BigBrotherMentor to Jolyne, and is mainly focused on getting revenge for her sister's murder; Gyro is a condescending, though caring BigBrotherMentor to Johnny who ends up being more heroic than TheHero himself; and Yasuho is an {{Adorkable}} love interest to Josuke, showing herself to be [[BadassNormal a very useful ally even before acknowledging her Stand]].

** Araki's love of western culture bleeds over to his characters too; Joseph listens to ''Music/TheBeatles'' on his walkman, Josuke's favorite musician is ''Music/{{Prince}}'' and Yukako uses ''Prince'' as well, and Akira says he desires to reach ''Music/JimiHendrix'''s level of fame. These musicians all have Stands named after their works, though, so that begs the question of if the Stands and the in-universe [=albums/songs=] are connected somehow.
