* ''Webcomic/SleipnirEquineInvaderFromJupiter'': Clint Williams is a bitter, sarcastic hot-tempered jerk who lashes out at his employees and family alike, and initially wholeheartedly approves of the military trying to kill Sleipnir despite his sister's protests that the giant alien horse is innocent. However, he eventually has a HeelRealization and turns on General Kincaid when he sees how insane the man really is, and following the timeskip has improved his relationship with his father and coworkers.

Up To Eleven is a defunct trope

** Vaarsuvius occasionally has a bit of this. V is pompous, arrogant, pedantic, and looks down on non-elves and less intelligent people with equal scorn, genuinely hates at least one teammate, and generally doesn't seem to be very motivated to save the world. Even so, there have been moments of them genuinely caring for teammates, notably Haley. The one teammate they really hate is Belkar, the Order's TokenEvilTeammate. The character arc where V [[spoiler: makes a DealWithTheDevil to save their family from a vengeful Black Dragon takes this UpToEleven.]]

* Ito, the God of Trust and Betrayal from ''Webcomic/AMomentOfPeace'', [[http://www.momentarypeace.com/comic.php?num=116 steals dreams and crushes hopes]] for a living, and has prosthetic hands forged from moments of despair by crows that grew hands to strangle people. Despite all this, he seems to be a nice guy when you get to know him.

* The Klegdixal ambassador from the Gallimaufry arc of ''ComicBook/BuckGodotZapGunForHire'', and possibly [[PlanetOfHats the Klegs as a whole]]. The way the ambassador tells it, the Beemahs are their albatross, and they desperately want to fix the mistakes they made with the poor fuzzy little weapons.

* Bianca Abercrombie from ''Webcomic/ClinicOfHorrors'' tends to be rather cold and at times violent to others, including her boss. However, she proves many times to not be BattleaxeNurse and actually care about the health of people, including removing a parasite from her friend and showing disgust at a gaming center that prioritizes people wants over their needs.

When Jake attempts to take down the Manwol single-handedly, a move that is tantamount to suicide, Dean chews him out for assuming he'd be able to leave without Dean at his side.

* Matilda, the eponymous ''WebComic/StepMonster''. The author outright describes her as "lazy, fat and cynical" and "kind of a jerk", and she admits she's something of an asshole — she ends up blowing her initial cover by being unable to resist taunting Mikey on the basketball field and making him cry, which causes her to fail the checkout as a viable guardian for the Miller kids. On the other hand, she has a very strong moral streak where it matters, she's quite loving in her own rough way, and she is fiercely protective of her adopted kids.

* Galatea in ''Webcomic/TheInexplicableAdventuresOfBob'' had a terrible childhood and has a pretty solid FreudianExcuse for grabbing hold of the VillainBall periodically -- but one way or another, she never really follows through on these schemes; and she truly does love her adopted family of Molly, Bob, and Jean and will go to absolutely absurd lengths to help them if they're in danger.

When Ditto's feelings are hurt, Zorua makes up for it by bringing its friend to a colony of Wooper, species of Pokémon that has the exact same face as it, allowing Ditto to make a perfect transformation.

* Wylie in ''Webcomic/UndeadFriend'' is often a jerk towards the other characters and tries to act like he doesn't care, but still can't keep himself from helping them. He sometimes falls into the {{Tsundere}} category.

* Bentley Kindle from ''WebComic/KevinAndKell'' is a career criminal usually out to make money quick, but he does have his moments of good-heartedness, particularly if it involves his family:
** He took the blame for the murder of a Herd Thinner employee so his daughter Danielle (the real killer, albeit accidentally) wouldn't go to jail.
** He pulled strings to get his ex-wife's new paramour Douglas to share his cell so he could make sure Douglas was good enough for her.
** He later would run an underground service to help [[DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything migrating species]] cross the border, and briefly harbored Caniche when all records of her-including that she was a legal immigrant-were erased. However, he still insists on being called a slimeball by the migrants.
