[[folder: Episode 4-Ants on a Log and a Cheating Winker]]
* Mary consoling Missy after her breakup with Taylor. After seven seasons of her neglecting her in favor of Sheldon, including the last time she was dealing with a breakup, it's nice to see Mary actually care about her daughter's feelings for once.

** A meta one: this aired right after the series finale of the parent show. So it was sort of a way of saying goodbye to the characters we knew over the past 12 seasons by showing their childhood selves.

* As Sheldon sits alone listening to the Nobel Prize announcements, Older Sheldon narrates that he always felt alone. We then see a series of shots of children and what they are doing at the same time, gradually revealed to be [[spoiler:his future friends from ''Series/TheBigBangTheory''.]] Sheldon finishes his narration pointing out that he was glad he was wrong about being alone. Also heart-warming [[spoiler:in a meta sense as it aired right after ''The Big Bang Theory's'' finale, giving ''TBBT'' fans one last look at the other characters after saying goodbye almost an hour earlier (there was a half-hour behind the scenes special between the two)]]

* Meta: Seeing the iconic [=CalTech=] canteen set from ''The Big Bang Theory'' again can definitely put a smile on old fans' faces.
** Sheldon posits that he could see himself going there one day and having a lot of stimulating conversations. George agrees that he could see Sheldon fitting right in.

* Missy asks Georgie for help with her homework, and he initially brushes her off, saying he doesn't understand it any more than she does (which is true). But when Missy admits to worrying she's not just dumb compared to Sheldon, but actually ''dumb'', he buckles down with her and spends what's implied to be the entire afternoon helping her with her homework. It's not easy, and the two frequently find themselves consulting Missy's textbooks, but together, they figure it out, and Missy gets a good grade. She slides her paper under Georgie's door to show him, and while he denies that it's a big deal, he secretly grins to himself and pins Missy's "A" paper to his bulletin board.

*After months of financial dire straits caused by the school giving his job to Wayne, George is called in to save the day when Wayne falls apart due to his wife leaving him. When the school asks him to come back permanently, he immediately says he won't take the job unless Wayne gets to stay on as assistant coach. After everything that happened, that's an impressive degree of loyalty.

* It turns out Tam is the one who introduced Sheldon to his beloved comic books, despite Sheldon initially disdaining them as being for kids. The scene of the two of them sitting on the floor reading ''ComicBook/XMen'' is quite adorable.
-->'''Sheldon:''' You challenge me. I like that.\\
''[Tam smiles.]''

** Missy's grin of pride and affection when Sheldon addresses his speech to her, and later making and keeping eye contact with Sheldon during her performance of "This Land Is Your Land." If nothing else, this scene alone makes it very, very clear that she knows her brother loves her, and she loves him back.
