* In one short scene, Takashi listens to his family constant request for items at the store. Grudgingly, he strolls off to the store and it starts to rain. He phone calls Matsuko for his umbrella. He overhears Matsuko lazily asking the other family members to bring his umbrella and accompany him to the store. The other members refuse adding to his frustration. Then, after purchasing a new umbrella at the store, he walks out in the rain and later sees his wife (with his umbrella) and children walking toward him to accompany him home.

He phone (the Dad) calls Matsuko home from the train station, asking for someone to bring his umbrella. He overhears Everyone's feeling lazy and they start arguing over who should bring the umbrella over. Finally Takeshi shouts that he'll just buy one himself. As he's heading home, he sees that Matsuko lazily asking the other family members ''and'' Nonoko ''and'' Noboru have all come out together to bring him his umbrella umbrella.
** (Oddly, the grandmother isn't with them. But I guess someone had to watch the house.)
** There's more to this scene if you watch it in the original Japanese. Matsuko asks Takashi to buy some pork while he's buying the umbrella. In the dub he yells "Ok, fine!", but in Japanese he yells "Baka yaro!", which literally translates to "moron!"
and accompany him to is interpreted in the store. The other members refuse adding to his frustration. Then, after purchasing a new umbrella at subtitles as "No way!". In the store, he walks out in passes by the rain pork for a moment, then goes back and later sees buys it. In other words, he's changed his wife (with mind about not getting the pork. At the same time, unknown to him, his umbrella) and children walking toward family has changed their mind about bringing him to accompany him home.the umbrella.
