What makes this so heartwarming is the fact that, from the perspective of the Champions, Captain Makinami is a major embarrassment. Not only did her heroic actions from the previous year make the Champions look bad, but she had very recently caused them even further embarrassment by [[CurbStompBattle curbstomping]] three members of the Chicago Branch. And yet not once do they consider just giving up and letting her take the hit for her impersonator's crimes.
