** As revealed in the final entry of the Tie-in books, [[spoiler:Hilda is [[HalfHumanHybrid one quarter]] [[TheFairFolk fairy]], and her blue hair is a result of this. While in Fairy Country, Johanna's hair also begins to turn blue.]]

** Some versions of the Scandinavian folklore portray the Mara as a human woman who has been placed under a curse; she'll live a normal human life during the day but transform into a Mara at night, especially during the full moon. If a man is placed under the same curse he becomes a werewolf; a woman becomes a Mara.

In "Chapter 8" of season 2, after Hilda triggered a time paradox, a brand new Hilda appeared with an entirely different outfit, came to guide the past and present Hilda to Tildy, before she actually came with past Hilda into a Time Worm's mouth and presumably erased from the timeline. I really doubt that she'd appear again in the future of the show, considering Tildy already restored the timeline by tearing the enchanted item, which is the magazine. The question is, where did this Hilda come from? Apparently she has already met Tildy, and probably knew the risk ( or dumb enough ) to sacrifice herself so present Hilda could live and see Tildy.

** One possible explanation is that Future Hilda was part of a stable timeloop that would always end in Hilda being eaten, which was broken when the magazine was torn in half and all the multiple timelines resolved themselves. In other words, because the paradox was resolved, Hilda would now never be eaten, because the timeline that required her loop into Future Hilda is now nonexistent.

** Considering David's random general fears and his very supportive parents, it's more likely just a random phobia with no known underlying cause (beyond creating a convenient conflict for the story).

What was Hilda doing in regards to finding anything that could potentially discredit Erik in the time between "The Witch" and "The Old Bells of Trolberg"? It is plausible that Hilda forgot to ask Kaisa if she had anything after they got caught up in the whole Skeleton Whisperer ordeal, but what happened after that? Did she just give up and decide to go for another strategy whenever Erik started shit again, or did she get sidetracked for too long with everything else (the Vikings, Victoria, other events we probably didn't see)?

What was Hilda doing in regards to finding anything that could potentially discredit Erik in the time between "The Witch" and "The Old Bells of Trolberg"? It We do know that Rat King was unable to find anything on him, and it is plausible that Hilda forgot to ask Kaisa if she had anything after they got caught up in the whole Skeleton Whisperer ordeal, but what happened after that? Did she just give up and decide to go for another strategy whenever Erik started shit again, or did she get sidetracked for too long with everything else going on (the Vikings, Victoria, other events we probably didn't see)?

** Magic appears to be fairly commonplace in Hilda's world. Anyone can do magic if they know how, though witches control tbe most of it. Some people in real life hold that Marra are a sort of witch. So perhaps the Marra we see are simply a type of witch who specialize in the specific type of magic that lets them do what they do specifically for fun and the ability to consume the nightmares of others like some type of drug.
