* Headscratchers/MickeysTwiceUponAChristmas

* In the Christmas movie WesternAnimation/MickeysOnceUponAChristmas Max is a little kid (younger than on WesternAnimation/GoofTroop), but in WesternAnimation/MickeysTwiceUponAChristmas he is a teenager. Yet Huey, Dewey, and Louie remain the same. I am at a loss to explain this one logically.
** Huey, Dewey and Louie have a Gary Coleman-esque kidney problem. They are really in their 40's.
** Huey, Dewey, and Louie have been stuck inside of a timewarp for the past 12 years
** Did the second movie ever actually say that the stories all happened on the same Christmas?
*** Well at the end of the movie teenaged Max and 10-year old Huey, Dewey, and Louie are shown singing Christmas carols along with the rest of the gang.
** To add to the mystery, Huey, Dewey, and Louie appear to be the same age in the VideoGame/KingdomHeartsI prequel, VideoGame/KingdomHeartsBirthBySleep, as they appear ten years later in VideoGame/KingdomHeartsII. Maybe they just don't age?
** This can be explained by a little judiciously-appled WesternAnimation/TinyToons physiology -- i.e. laughter (or rather, mindshare) keeps a toon young (or rather, at their "iconic" age). People know Huey, Dewey, and Louie as 10 year olds, so they stay 10 year olds; people don't really know Max, so he ages normally.
*** Relatedly, there's also the fact that the people who do know Max are already used to him aging normally.

*** Actually, there's 1 Mickey Mouse Movie in the works, with hints at a 2nd movie being made starring Mickey Mouse and focusing on Disneyland. And these two films aren't straight to DVD or anything like that, no, these are the Real Deal. Hopefully, Oswald will get a Short before the actual Film.

* This is probably a bad, bad idea to bring this up, but since it bugs me I'm just going to say it. Why is Disney the only company to be called racist? Don't get me wrong, the UnfortunateImplications page basically damns Disney, but it's hardly the only company to be guilty of racism. Let's see: though Disney has quite a lot of racism, it actually only has banned two movies/Fantasia parts of movies because of racism (though there may be more). WarnerBros, Disney's rival? It had at least eleven banned cartoons, most because of racism. And I've yet to see Disney come up with anything as bad as depicting a whole race as evil monsters. So why is Warner Bros. never called racist? Is it because Warner Bros. isn't primarily a kid's company? That would be bullshit, as racism is wrong no matter who's the film aimed at. I mean, people seem to see UnfortunateImplications in Disney films even when there is none. The Enchanted page used to show the most annoying example on TVTropes. Normally, that would be WhatDoYouMeanItsNotSymbolic? But here, it's UnfortunateImplications! And don't get me started on the controversies on ThePrincessAndTheFrog...
** You are right, there is a clear DoubleStandard at work here. But it's worth noting that those WB shorts were not ever intended for children. They were theatrical shorts, shown before ordinary movies with an adult audience. Now that LooneyTunes are shown on television, they are classified as children's entertainment. Whereas Disney films were always intended for young audiences. And they were features. It's easy to sweep a couple of seven minute shorts under the rug when you have hundreds more, but if Disney tried to pretend that PeterPan or Fantasia never happened people would take note.
*** I was under the impression that the theater shorts shown in-between movies were specifically intended for the children? After all, going to the theaters back then was usually an all day, all family experience.
*** Not necessarily. Some theatrical shorts (Tex Avery's work with MGM comes to mind) could be rather racy. Still pretty tame by today's standards, but Red Hot Riding Hood for instance was about as risque as even movies were allowed to be at the time. And it ends with the onscreen suicide of the main character. Even today it is frequently censored when shown on TV.
*** I was under the impression that Walt Disney did NOT originally intend his movies for young audiences, but rather, for adults.
*** WaltDisney's films - features, animated shorts meant to be shown before features, and live action alike - were always meant to be family films, enjoyable by children and adults alike. They weren't primarily geared to children, but Disney wanted to include them all the same. That said, sure, Disney isn't pretending that PeterPan or Fantasia never happened, but at the same time, there's a reason SongOfTheSouth has never been released for home audiences...
**** Why have PeterPan and Fantasia been released for home film, but not SongOfTheSouth? Is Song of the Souths racism really so much worse then that of the other two films?
**** And this conversation looks very odd to me -- I am currently sitting in the family home in Britain with a VHS copy of Song of the South in the cupboard! To be frank, the animated sections are the only bits that made enough of an impression that I can still remember them after a few years since the last viewing.
