*** I understand the reasons the show gives the characters for going back, but I still think they're headscratchers. There are other ways to rekindle your marriage that don't involve putting yourself into a situation where you're once again at the mercy of inescapable murderous ghosts. And what good does it do to prove your innocence if you're dead?! She could've let the others go, made sure she had an air-tight alibi, and said, "see?" when they all turned up dead like she knew they would. Neither of these women had a reason good enough to outweigh being painfully murdered to back in that house during the Blood Moon.

* It's understandable why the cast of My Roanoke Nightmare returned to the house. None of them believe in the ghosts. And Matt is going back because he's being called by Scathach. But why on earth do Shelby and Lee go back? The reasons they give are completely ridiculous when you remember that they know these murderous ghosts are real and that they'd be going back during the period of the year when they do their killing. Why would you narrowly escape with your lives and then GO BACK?! What good does it do to save your marriage or your name if you end up painfully murdered in the process?

*** In the reenactments, Mott's ghost is also sightly hostile with his help. He only leads them outside to keep his solitude, and to allow them the "misprized trophy of a peaceful death" in the woods via exposure or starvation. Lee was THERE the first time he led the Millers out and he specifically mentioned that he couldn't bear another 3 souls being stuck on the 'his' property and ruining his solitude. He likely recognized her and reacted in anger, as several people have already died again and have been bound to 'his' property. His thought process was probably along the lines of "YOU! I TOLD YOU I WANT MY SOLITUDE AND INSTEAD YOU COME BACK WITH MORE PEOPLE?!? YOU DON'T GET A SECOND CHANCE!"

**** But Lee WASN'T present when Mott helped them out the first time. That was Shelby, Matt, and Flora. Lee was still being held by the police when that happened. I suspect he was just frustrated that there were more people impinging on his solitude and he may have helped lead them out if Lee hadn't shot at him.

*** I believe it is more an issue of him having already been ridiculously in love with Shelby when Scathach gave him what he described as the "most intimate moment" he had ever shared with a person. Shelby was his first True love in his eyes, but Scathach touched his soul (and of course compelled him as well) in a way she never had or could. So it gave him conflicting feelings because he loved both of them now, leading to Shelby cheating because Matt was much more distant due to his confusion over the matter. By that point he felt betrayed and wanted nothin to due with Shelby, but it wasn't enough to push him towards the property until the producer offered him a direct chance to be there again during the blood moon. Please remember after escaping the property that they eventually sold the property for half its price, so he would've been trespassing and he had to wait until the blood moon anyway. The producers offered him a chance to be there legally, during the blood moon, and if Scathach didn't take him back he could leave without being arrested or sneaking off of the property.

** In the reenactments, Edward's ghost says that he prefers solitude and there are too many souls intruding on his privacy as is, so he leads them out. When in "reality" Shelby and Dominic attempt to escape from the house through the tunnel and they hear something inside, Shelby says something along the lines of "Maybe it's Edward, he could actually help" before they get attacked by the Chens, suggesting that Edward really did speak to them before, ar at least helped them.

* Why does the ghost of Edward Mott attack Monet, Lee and Audrey in Episode 7 but originally helped Matt and Shelby escape?

** Matt has shown some conflicting actions that suggest he hasn't been in his own right mind for a long time. He claims to love Scáthach and only wants to be with her, yet still attacked Dominic in a jealous rage over his affair with Shelby when he showed up and clearly still has feelings for Shelby. However, considering his otherwise emotionless state, his own admission to no longer feeling human, and the fact that he's clearly in some kind of trance every time he's been with Scáthach (As shown as when he went to her in the basement and both times in the reenactment portion, if the depictions of his meetings with her are accurate), odds are he doesn't want to be with her entirely out of his own free will and is only under a spell that compels him to be with her. It's possible that whatever hold she has on Matt is weaker when he's off the property, so while he's somewhat free and doesn't consciously wish to return, he's still drawn to her and can't shake off her influence.

** Another possibility is that the other ghosts did it. Only the Roanoke colonists have their killing abilities restricted to the blood moon, but the pig man, the Jane Sisters, etc. can kill whenever they feel like it.
