* Colonel Jack Sullivan is a corrupt, hypocritical, and paranoid military official who uses InsaneTrollLogic to think Eleven is doing the Hawkins murders. He sends agents into the Byers house to kill protagonists (who are minors) and then tortures a man for information. Despite Dr. Owens attempting to reason with him, he orders for Eleven to be killed off anyways and never even considers the possibility of being wrong.

In true 80s throwback fashion, ''Series/StrangerThings'' has a boatload of these, especially in the first season. Terrifying as it is, you can't ''hate'' the Demogorgon, as it's basically just a [[NonMaliciousMonster predatory animal]] fulfilling its survival instincts. Fortunately, the ''human'' characters are more than willing to step up to the plate as targets for the audience's hatred.

* Andy is a basketball JerkJock who, unlike Jason and Patrick, has zero redeeming qualities whatsoever. He makes an insensitive joke upon learning of the first murder, joins the WitchHunt while expressing glee at the chance to hurt Eddie, mocks Lucas several times for little reason and pins Erica to the ground before threatening to break her arm.
* Colonel Jack Sullivan. He is a corrupt, hypocritical, and paranoid military official who is dead wrong about Eleven being responsible for the murders, yet is so arrogantly sure of his ridiculous theories that he is willing to murder children, shoot up suburban neighborhoods, and brutally torture an American citizen to prove himself right.

* Two. He’s a nasty piece of work who believes he's the best "test subject" out of all the other kids, constantly bullies El because he sees her as weak and doesn't understand why Dr. Brenner wastes his time on her, and at one point plans to ''kill El'' because he got punished by Brenner for breaking the rules and assaulting El when he thought no one was watching him.

* Grigori. Seriously, the ''Mind Flayer'' is more recognizably human than this guy. He literally does not ever do a single thing that is not hatefully evil, and can't even summon up the humanity to [[VillainsOutShopping buy a box of fucking Twinkies]] without [[KickTheDog violently interrogating]] the poor cashier. About the only time you'll feel sorry for Larry Kline is when Grigori [[DisproportionateRetribution nearly strangles him to death]] just because Kline says that he hasn't found Joyce and Hopper yet. This would all be bad enough on its own, but what really pushes him past "DumbMuscle" into [[MoralEventHorizon pure, unadulterated evil]] is when he [[KickTheDog shoots Alexei dead]] at the fair - when he wasn't even helping the Americans out at that moment, he was just [[HeroesGoneFishing enjoying the Carnival games!]] - and practically ''sneering'' "Traitor." His intervention leads directly to Hopper's [[NeverFoundTheBody ambiguous death]] when Grigori attacks him and Joyce, and the only complaint anyone will have about Hopper throwing him into a spinning TurbineBlender is that ''it was over too quickly.''

Kick the Son of a Bitch is no longer a trope

* Troy and James, who torment the four main kids to the point of [[MoralEventHorizon forcing Mike out of pure spite into jumping off a cliff with the threat of cutting out Dustin's teeth if he didn't, a situation that would have most certainly led to his death had it not been for Eleven]]. The only people upset when Eleven [[KickTheSonOfABitch snaps Troy's arm like a twig]] are the people who think that it wasn't punishment ''enough''. Troy also makes fun of Will for supposedly being gay and calls the African-American Lucas "Midnight". The comic "The Bully" however goes in a different direction by providing Troy a FreudianExcuse through his abusive father and showing that his friendship with James is genuine.

Vecna isn't hate sinks. He's a fairly enjoyable villain and his own actor said he sympathizes with him and that he genuinely feels disenfranchised by the world.

He makes an insensitive joke upon learning of the first murder, joins the WitchHunt while expressing glee at the chance to hurt Eddie, mocks Lucas several times for little reason and pins Erica to the ground before threatening to break her arm.
* When you get past his stylized EvilIsVisceral appearance, his awe-inspiring fright factor and his ColdHam approach, you realize this is most true for none other than [[GreaterScopeVillain Vecna himself.]] He was an extremely misanthropic little boy, and the development of his powers only fuelled his budding belief he was above humanity. He killed his mother and mother, and drove his father to insanity to cover up his own crimes. When he realized Eleven could help his realize his ambitions of removing humanity from nature's equation, he gaslighted and manipulated her, attempting to push her into a truly dark place. When she blasts him to the Upside Down, he becomes exactly what he hated humanity for without a shred of reflection on this, imposing his will on a wild untamed place for his own ends. When he's finally introduced in the story, it's through emotionally torturing troubled teens before killing them in the most unnecessarily brutal way, all to serve as "batteries" for the mega-portal he was constructing to bring ruin upon the world - further demonstrating his hypocrisy for his hatred of humanity for doing the same. Fittingly, the most dangerous villain of ''Stranger Things'' is also its most repulsive one.
