However, Lily accidentally tells Ted about Robin's crush, prompting him to kiss Robin. However, before anything can happen between them, [[spoiler: Robin picks up a call from Victoria where they both learn that Ted was lying, so he ends up single with both Robin and Victoria angry at him]].

* DoubleStandardRapeFemaleOnMale: The whole "Pineapple Incident". Ted is [[ButLiquorIsQuicker completely wasted]] and meets the very much conscious Trudy who, after a while, takes him to his home and sleeps with him. After he regains conscience, she tells him exactly what happened during the night. Now, did the sleepover happen with meaningful informed consent? No! So, rape, pure and simple. And, as she escapes and never speaks to him again, [[KarmaHoudini she never responds for what she did]]. Of course, [[NotIfTheyEnjoyedItRationalization the fact that he liked her, had a good time and wanted to talk to her again]] is not an excuse for what she did.

Added DiffLines:

** Also, Marshall presumably concentrated on environmental law while he was in law school, since that's what he wants to do with his law degree. He spends more of the series than not working in corporate law. And also gives his friends legal counsel when they need it. You can't just switch back and forth that way- a corporate lawyer would be studying completely different areas of the law than an environmental lawyer would. On the other hand, Marshall winds up as a judge, so he clearly knows his stuff.
