* The scene with the killer and Tatum prior to that when she sees him and assumes it's just a prank/joke, and tries to play along by saying, "No, please don't kill me, Mr. Ghostface. I wanna be in the sequel! Cut it, [[WesternAnimation/CasperTheFriendlyGhost Casper,]] that's a wrap!" This is amusing before the scene becomes real and the MoodWhiplash sets in.
** Even then, there's something darkly humorous about Tatum attempting to escape Ghostface by going through a doggy door and getting stuck, especially since the previous two times, the door only went partway up before stopping. This time, when someone's stuck in it, suddenly it feels like going all the way up. Even funnier since Rose McGowan actually could fit through the door just fine.

** The sheepish way he answers the phone ("Hello?") when Sidney is giving the pair ATasteOfTheirOwnMedicine.

** The next day when she sees Gale, she coos "nice welt, sweetie."
* Tatum's attempt to escape through the cat-flap in the garage door. Sure, blonde girls in horror movies can be dumb, and people try and escape danger in silly ways. But, this is just so stupid that you can do nothing but stare in utter disbelief for several seconds before you start laughing. It must be ''the'' dumbest attempt to escape in a horror movie ever made.
** Made HilariousInHindsight with the knowledge that Creator/RoseMcGowan actually ''could'' fit through the cat-flap (so in a funny way, maybe Tatum wasn't so dumb for trying?) And they had to staple her top to the side of the flap to stop her from falling out while the door was raised.
** When she was interviewed in 2011, she mentioned that she's still able to fit through a pet flap, and that it's a handy way to get in "as long as you're not wearing something super fancy".

* The fact that several different people, when dealing with Ghostface, immediately assume that it's Randy.

* While it doesn’t strike as particularly humorous during a viewers first watch, this exchange:

** Both funny and twisted when you remember that Stu AND Billy DID actually kill multiple people at this point in the film (Maureen, Casey, and Steve). When you rewatch the film you realize Billy is vaguely telling Stu to shut the hell up.
** Randy accusing Stu in a Jerry Lewis impression:

** And when Ghostface tells Sidney he's calling from her front porch, he says it in such a way that he's hoping it'll be like his WhamLine to Casey. There's a beat, before Sidney just asks "why would you be calling from my front porch?"

** After Randy yells everyone in the video store shoots him a look. Stu makes a motion of smoking marijuana to explain Randy.
** Also in the video store, Randy asks Stu if he thinks that, with Billy seeming so suspicious, if Stu thought Sid might now go out with Randy. Stu responds with over-the-top giggling, before responding, completely deadpan: "No, I don't, at all."

* Wonder why Billy looks so intense in that first scene by the fountain? It was the first day of shooting and Skeet Ulrich admitted he was ActingInTheDark, not knowing about the comedic undertones of the movie, and was going to pattern his performance on various serial killers he had read up on. So when Matthew Lillard and Jamie Kennedy begin to out-ham each other, Ulrich said he was thinking, "Why are they trying to be funny? This isn't funny! They're ruining the movie!" Thankfully, Billy having creepy-serious overtones perfectly suited the character.

* Meta example: behind the scenes, Creator/RoseMcGowan was horrified at the costume choices she was given to wear as Tatum (the wardrobe mistress wanted her to be a tomboy, Rose envisioned her as cuter and more feminine). When they tried to get her to wear denim overalls, saying "they're very 'now'", Rose responded "they're very ''never''" and immediately hopped in a taxi to buy her own clothes.
