* The Enchantress is just about the only member of the Order of No Quarter who doesn't completely dismiss Plague Knight as a creepy little weirdo. Not only that, but even after he outright betrays her and beats her up, she refuses to go all-out and finish him off. Why? Yes, she needs to conserve her strength for her still-upcoming duel with Shovel Knight, but as she herself says, Plague Knight is a ''very'' useful Alchemist. As a sorceress, the Enchantress is the only member of the Order who actually understands magic well enough to properly respect Plague Knight's skillset. Killing him ''would'' be a waste unless she was well and truly sure he couldn't be brought to heel, something she already knows Specter Knight is fully capable of doing.

* Specter Knight, who is otherwise aloof and terse with other characters, becomes positively furious when he interacts with King Knight in both ''Showdown''. While the latter's [[TheFriendNobodyLikes unpleasant nature]] is a reasonable motive, think of what the Enchantress kept on doing after he chose to ally with her at the last moment in ''King of Cards'': Specter Knight kept being bound into servitude to her, [[spoiler: Reize, the one person he was sworn to protect, was corrupted by her, finally forcing him to kill the boy and trade his one chance at returning to life to undo the Enchantress' curse on him]], all because of King Knight's selfish decision. His grudge against him is ''deeply'' personal.

** The Lichyard's new song is perhaps one of the most upbeat and joyous, which seems a little odd considering it's Specter Knight's stomping grounds, one would think it would be the most somber remix. But this makes sense when you consider the town's still there; the tragedy has yet to occur and the song sounds ''[[IncrediblyLamePun lively]]''.

** Likewise, Plague Knight's dance animation, if unlocked via the Troupple King, has him facing upwards with his arms up high, right at the level where Mona's hands would be. Putting the two side to side they're a near perfect recreation of their final dance in the End screen of Plague of Shadows.

** Though, the ending of ''King of Cards'' actually explains a lot about the original ending. [[spoiler:King Knight's mom reciprocated the King's affections and she allowed him to live in her home after he was usurped. Assuming she's not dead of old age or disease by the start of ''Shovel of Hope'', she's probably still alive and possibly married to the King. Despite the crimes of King Knight, both his mom and the King would see him as a rebellious son to be punished instead of a criminal to be executed. They may even be trying to redeem him by teaching him humility to see if he can become heir. The fact that the King keeps his would be son so close to the throne despite his betrayal is pretty telling.]]

** Consequentially, his ''Shovel of Hope'' boss fight is rather genius on his part. In hindsight, by starting out in the state he does, he's ''not'' giving the fight his all. He's still presenting a modicum of effort for plausible deniability's sake, but he's intentionally making Shovel Knight's journey that much easier. ''This'' could be Specter Knight's revenge that Red muses about after collecting every red skull in ''Specter of Torment''.

** By ''Shovel of Hope'', it's possible he learned how to exploit this outward defeatism to his advantage. By starting the fight off with this simpler battle style, he's granting Shovel Knight one accessible step closer to the Tower of Fate. * [[TheVeryDefinitelyFinalDungeon The Tower of Fate]] being [[AllTheWorldsAreAStage a combination of almost every gimmick and having almost every enemy from previous levels]] makes much more sense when you consider that the tower is where the Order of No Quarter hangs out when they're not working in their respective areas. Of course they would incorporate security measures borrowed from their stages in case of intruders.

* Compared to the other character's subweapons, Shovel Knight's Relics don't seem to have a general theme to them. Plague Knight's Arcanas are all related to alchemy or magic. Specter Knight's Curios all have some supernatural bent to them. King Knight's Heirlooms are mostly related to being kingly or summoning a minion to assist him. Compared to all that, Shovel Knight's items all seem kinda random aside from being vaguely related to the stage they were found in... which is exactly the point. Shovel Knight is a well-seasoned adventurer who's traveled all across the land and is known for his experience and expertise. It makes sense that he'd be used to scavenging and making use of whatever he could come across in his travels.

Just elaborating these points further is all.

* King Knight and Specter Knight are the first two Order of No Quarter bosses, while Plague Knight is only fought in the second set. As a boss he's more complex, and as a playable character he's ''still'' more complex.
* Why didn't Terrorpin's Jouctus advice work? Terrorpin couldn't see the cards!

As a boss It makes sense for the next set of bosses to be potentially more difficult than the first set. This gets mimicked in their various playstyles! King and Specter Knight are simpler to learn and play as, being first set bosses, while Plague Knight is much more complex in playstyle and he's more complex, and as a playable character he's ''still'' more complex.

* Why didn't Terrorpin's Jouctus Joustus advice work? Simple: Terrorpin was serving as the Table that King and Black Knight were playing on. Terrorpin couldn't see the cards!

* During King of Cards, from the two times you face Specter Knight, he seems to fight more akin to his moveset in Specter of Torment and he's notably exhausted afterwards. Only during the second one dues he go OneWingedAngel and fight like he does in Shovel of Hope or Plague of Shadows. Why is this? Well, King of Cards takes place before Specter of Torment. It's implied in the credits that Specter Knight just started serving the Enchantress since he hasn't gotten the rest of the Order of No Quarter together. As such, it's plausible that Specter Knight was just newly resurrected and hasn't gotten used to his powers or any potential undead pains he has.

* In ''Specter of Torment'', we clearly see Plague Knight use the Tracer and Cascade Powders, as well as the Impact Fuse (all which need to be purchased from Mona). Yet why does he start ''Plague of Shadows'' with only the basic bombs? According to a comment Plague Knight makes, Percy once launched him by catapult straight into the ocean, waterlogging his bombs during a time when he couldn't afford another set. Hence why Plague Knight has only sub-par equipment at the start of the campaign and why he has to pay Mona for the rest of the bomb components and bursts.

Considering how much trouble one can have with Specter in the early-game, "weaker" isn't my best choice of word.
