* During the MindScrew that was the "Firefly Funhouse Match", there's a scene of Cena in a New World Order shirt. Cena is standing in as Hollywood Hulk Hogan and Cena left wrestling and turned to acting in Hollywood.

*His "My Time Is Now" theme includes the line "When you hear those horns you're finished," which isn't that far removed from "When you hear the glass it's your ass!"

* The way the main event at Money In The Bank 2011 ends, when Cena has Punk dead to rights, but lets go of him to stop Vince and John Laurinaitis from throwing the match. Not only does it perfectly encapsulate his character, it's pretty much what happened in RealLife in that Cena, as the face of the company, could easily have insisted on going over, leaving CM Punk as just some guy who complained about his job on the way out the door. Instead, he dropped the title to give Punk a fair chance.

* Cena's motto for many, many years has been "Determinator Never give up." At the same time, to the disappointment of many fans, he's been a face for at least a decade with no heel turn in sight. The job of a babyface character is to get as many people as possible to cheer for him. John Cena, who constantly strives to improve as a wrestler, never gives up at his attempts to win over his detractors (not just "never giving up" as a kayfabe competitor, regarding winning matches).

* The way WWE has picked up on the very strong hatred of Cena in some circles and, at one point, made a "Cena Sucks" T-shirt. Some of his more passionate detractors, of course, bought it, which meant that the same people that hate him with such a passion are actually boosting his sales numbers.
