* Part 1 and Part 2 are the only parts where the main villains - Dio and Kars - are [[OurVampiresAreDifferent vampiric beings]]. Their defeats are, in many ways, opposite of each other.
** Dio is a vampire, and therefore vastly weaker than Kars, who is a Pillar Man (and later Ultimate Being) and the creator of the Stone Mask. And yet, Dio is the one who technically won his fight, since he managed to kill Jonathan; meanwhile Kars failed to kill Joseph.
** Both villains called out their respective Jojos. In Dio's case, he was shocked and even regretful at seeing that Jonathan had died; in Kars case, he was enraged at Joseph tricking him yet again.
** Dio possesses the ability to freeze people, and ended up getting his original body destroyed by Hamon, aka ThePowerOfTheSun. Kars gained an immunity to sunlight and the ability to use Hamon, but then he ended up frozen in space.
** Dio lost his original body, and some time afterwards he was sunk down to the bottom of the ocean. Kars was shot up into space, and eventually he lost his mind and stopped thinking.
* Funny Valentine and Tooru's powers are also, in a way, opposite of each other. Funny's ultimate ability "[=D4C=] Love Train" and Tooru's Stand "Wonder of U" are based on misfortune, but they work in opposite ways: Love Train sends misfortune away from the user and attracts certain objects in a way that often favors Funny himself, while Wonder of U attracts calamities towards anyone who pursues Tooru or his Stand. They are also respectively defeated in opposite ways as well: Love Train's barrier is broken by the Super Spin, which is a perpetual rotation representing "infinity", while Wonder of U can be hit by Go Beyond's bubbles, which "don't exist in this world" and therefore represent "nothingness".

** Made In Heaven: Can accelerate time around the user. It can get to the point it can go to the end of the Universe, to the beginning of the Universe, to the starting point. Pucci talks a lot about how this ability relates to fate: first of all, his speed lets him change fates almost like DIO's stopped time, and his plan is to ultimately make a universe where everyone already knows their fate (to brutally oversimplify). Emporio and Weather Report have fate on their side to bring justice to Pucci, and end up defeating him before he can complete his goal.

** Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap: Can access alternate timelines. Again, D4C lets Valentine cheat fate by simply swapping himself (or others) out with different versions of themselves, altering their fates completely. The Golden Spin is the only way to stop him from doing so, and in the end his own alternate gun gets him killed.

* From Part 3 to 7, all of the {{Big Bad}}s' Stands are related to time. WordOfGod even confirms this and states that the reason why the villains have those powers is because if they had control over time, they could be unbeatable and that stories need to have powerful villains.
** DIO's The World: TimeStandsStill.
** Killer Queen (that is, its third bomb type, Bites The Dust): GroundhogDayLoop.
** King Crimson: Erases a portion of time, up to 10 seconds, allowing the user to evade attacks.

villains. Not only that, but their control over time is really control over ''fate'', which is a recurring theme in all of ''Jojo''.
** DIO's The World: TimeStandsStill.
TimeStandsStill. During his stopped time, DIO can freely manipulate the fates of himself and others by moving things or launching attacks. The only way Jotaro could beat him was by giving him a taste of his own medicine, defying DIO's control over his fate.
** Killer Queen (that is, its third bomb type, Bites The Dust): GroundhogDayLoop.
GroundhogDayLoop. When people explode after learning Kira's identity, they become fated to explode every loop (hence Rohan exploding even though he hadn't learned Kira's identity, in the second loop). The time rewind also lets Kira cheat fate, stopping others from bringing him to justice. Hayato outsmarts him and forces him to cancel the loop, letting Josuke administer justice unfettered.
** King Crimson: Erases a portion of time, up to 10 seconds, allowing the user to evade attacks.
move freely. Similar to the last two, this allows Diavolo to cheat fate by removing himself from it entirely, escaping all consequences of other's actions. The only way to defeat it is Golden Experience Requiem's ability to cancel it completely.

** When going to alternate dimensions, Funny Valentine can send D4C find that dimension's Valentine and take his body, which will then gain the knowledge of the previous ones. And so since it carries Valentine conscience, D4C is in a way the real identity of the president, and Valentine can only be defeated when the stand is defeated.

* We see that DIO can use both The World and a variation of Hermit Purple presumably obtained from Jonathan's body. One could say each JoJo after Joseph has a Stand that mixes the two.

** The idea of alternate universes bridges Part 6 and Part 7, the former having a new timeline being formed in the finale as the result of Pucci's failure and the latter featuring a BigBad who can access alternate timelines. Part 7 also retroactively identifies the FireballEyeballs Jolyne and Weather displays as early examples of [[KillingIntent Dark Determination]].

* The David Productions anime has the tradition of using the main villain of each arc use their Stand power in the opening titles: Dio stopped the credits with the World, Kira used Bites the Dust to rewind the credits, and Diavolo erased time with King Crimson (and saw what would happen with Epitaph). These are all abilities/attacks that interfere with fate and the fourth wall. However, two villains got their attacks in the titles too:

** Cioccolata, while not a main villain, also receives a similar end. He delights in seeing others suffering and dying and purposefully botches surgeries so that his patients can feel pain, while his Stand, Green Day, dispenses flesh-eating mould that grows when victims ''drop in altitude''. After Giorno denies him mercy, he gets subjected to a brutal 7-page/30-second beatdown by Gold Experience, a Stand that can amplify sensations of pain by infusing victims with life energy, which ends with him ''plummeting'' into the back of a garbage truck.
