!Fridge Brilliance
When the story reaches the day before Christmas, the protagonist says in one of his monologues that he would like to celebrate the holiday with eggnog and Christmas pudding. At first it seems an example of Fridge Logic, since the story is supposed to be set in Japan and Japanese people hardly consume those items on Christmas Day. However, it actually goes to show not only his increasingly hinged mental state and/or the game itself getting glitched but also foreshadows the final twist: it ties in with how the main character is actually a real-world (presumably) OccidentalOtaku, whose consciousness was trapped in a simulation based on his fascination with magical girl shows and Japanese culture.
