* GutturalGrowler: The few times Diana speaks, she has a low-pitched, raspy voice. She sounded like this even as a child.

* TheArtifact: A lot of the way Diana appears and acts makes a bit more sense when one knows that Sandberg had originally written her as a demon that was feeding off of Sophie's grief. Notably, the idea that Diana somehow goes away/is sealed away whenever Sophie is mentally well comes from this idea. James Wan had suggested to Sandberg (as the latter explains in his DVD commentary) that making Diana a ghost with a personal connection to Sophie would have played out better character-wise, hence the change. The idea that Diana is connected to Sophie is retained by explaining that the two had a very close (if unhealthy) bond as children.
