* FriendlyNeighborhoodGangster: Beautifully parodied to perfection with the pimp council. The movie mines some great jokes out of the fact that, although they're a frequent choice for protagonists in the blaxpoitation genre, most pimps in real life aren't exactly nice people.

The movie council scene mines some great a lot of jokes out of the fact that, although they're a frequent choice for protagonists in the blaxpoitation genre, most pimps in real life aren't exactly nice people.people. Even Black Dynamite, despite ostensibly being a neighborhood hero, is still a pimp himself, and shouts violent threats at one of his prostitutes when she interrupts him (revealing in the process that one of the pimps on the council, Crenshaw Pete, tortures his own girls with "hot-ass coat hangers").

* StuntCasting / NonActorVehicle : In-universe, in the "fake" trailer. Black Dynamite is apparently played by "all-star running back Ferrante Jones", referencing sportsmen-turned-actors Fred Williamson and Jim Brown. "That bad Bullhorn" also appears AsHimself.

Black Dynamite is apparently played by "all-star running back Ferrante Jones", referencing sportsmen-turned-actors Fred Williamson and Jim Brown. "That bad Bullhorn" also appears AsHimself. The movie plays with this by having Pat Nixon (or rather the "actress" playing her) gently coaching "Ferrante Jones" on acting in their scenes together, implying that she is an experienced professional amidst a cast of amateurs.
