A 2013 pseudo-{{anthology}} film directed by Damien Leone. "Pseudo-anthology" because the segments in the film, sans the second one, were released as discrete shorts prior to the release of the movie.

* {{Expy}}: Damien Leone loosely based Art's appearance off of that of Creator/TimCurry's rendition of [[Film/It1990 Pennywise the Dancing Clown]] His character and mannerisms also have some basis in ComicBook/TheJoker.

* PoorCommunicationKills: Sarah possibly could have [[spoiler:saved the kids]] if she actually acknowledged that there was something really wrong with Timmy's accusation listed under WhamLine.

* CaptainErsatz: The Trickster's jumpsuit, knife, and stalking mannerisms are more than a little reminiscent to those of [[Franchise/{{Halloween}} Michael Myers]].

* ThroughTheEyesOfMadness: In ''Descent,'' a woman sees her friend murdered in her apartment. This traumatizes causes her to [[spoiler:hallucinate every man she comes across as her friend's killer.]]

* TomTheDarkLord: Go on, guess.

* WhipItGood: Art's weapon of choice is a whip made up of scalpels, syringes, and other medical tools.

** "The 9th Circle": [[spoiler:The heroine is raped by Satan.]]
** "Something in the Dark": [[spoiler:The alien drags the woman away to an unknown, but definitely not pleasant, fate.]]
** "Terrifier": [[spoiler:The heroine is dismembered and mutilated by Art.]]

* FauxAffablyEvil: Despite a lack of any speaking lines, Art could be considered this. He dresses up as a clown and acts the part, until he decides to drop the façade altogether. In ''The 9th Circle,'' he gives Casey a flower, which has a CreepyCockroach crawling out of it. After drugging her, he waves at her as she slips into unconsciousness.

* YouHaveGotToBeKiddingMe: Art is visibly annoyed when a couple tools fall off his whip.

* FauxAffablyEvil: Despite a lack of any speaking lines, Art could be considered this. He dresses up as a clown and acts the part, until he decides to drop the façade altogether. * AdultFear: Supernatural elements aside, the possibility of a stranger slipping a suspicious item into your child's trick-or-treat bag is definitely something parents and authority figures would have to worry about. And due to some later real events, the notion of homicidal clowns stalking your children certainly falls under this, as well.

* GiantSpaceFleaFromNowhere: The alien. It's the main antagonist of the second segment and makes a brief appearance in the wraparound, but it's so out of left field and doesn't match up with the rest of the movie at all.
