** Though it is technically artificial, [[spoiler:Cheese with his memories removed]] suffers from frequent headaches, fatigue, forgetfulness, and irritability. However, drinking from a magic pool later makes him exhibit dog-like behavior that's much ''less'' ambiguous...
** Willow, Flora's youngest sister, talks less than her toddler brother Kernel despite being older than him, doesn't like eye contact, typically shows little emotion, and is overly obsessed with princesses.

* GrumpyBear: Tomato. Must have been city life or something... [[spoiler:combined with crummy parents and so-called 'friends' who abandoned him when he was emotionally distressed]].

* TheIdealist: Flora Peace. Despite her occasional DeadpanSnarker moment, acting like a self-righteous naggy mother, or being reminded about how she hates Manehattan, she truly strives to see the best in everypony she meets. After all, she has found a reason to befriend [[GrumpyBear Tomato]] [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold Sandwich]].

* NeverBeHurtAgain: Tomato's main motivation for becoming a [[GrumpyBear grumpy]] DeadpanSnarker.

** [[spoiler:Rooney subjects Cheese to this by forcing him to relive his worst memories UpToEleven, and then performing LaserGuidedAmnesia by the very painful method of having them literally ripped out of his mind (with the final memory removal having Cheese watch helplessly as they're taken away from him until he's not himself anymore)]].

* AdultFear:
** Cheese naturally gets really concerned whenever his little brother is in danger. Whether it be running into bandits, making a deal with the wrong pony, or going missing, you can bet that Cheese would be worried.
** The Las Pegasus arc mentions that ''foals'' were [[spoiler:transformed into vampires--by the classic bite on the neck]]! An upset mother makes it hit even harder.
** The Manehattan arc has [[spoiler:Tomato having regressed in age to a small colt, losing any memory beyond his current age, and getting lost in the city]]. Any adult will know that a big city is not kind to unattended small children, especially with the dangers that [[spoiler:Tommy]] runs into, like gang fights and shady strangers, while trying to find his way home. Doesn't help that he thinks that he was abandoned by his family and eventually cries out of fear when he realizes how alone he is.
*** On a related note, [[spoiler:teenage Tomato]] may be suffering from depression, to the point where he seems to be considering suicide.
** March Redwood is angry with his daughter Flora when she [[spoiler:sets off to try to calm a rampaging Cheese Sandwich down]], because there is the chance that she very well could have been hurt [[spoiler:with the candy cannons Cheese carried set to a pretty high setting]].
** Even before Tomato learns what's causing it, he's very clearly worried about Cheese's mental health since Las Pegasus, which has spawned erratic behavior from the party pony, ranging from headaches to outright going berserk from seeing and hearing things that aren't there. He's even tried to talk him into staying in one place for the rest of the summer.

* {{Megane}}: Tomato wears glasses.
** StoicSpectacles: He has a tendency to be aloof.

** NotSoDifferent: He is related to Cheese Sandwich after all, and due to Tomato being the younger brother with a good dose of BigBrotherWorship in youth meant that he might be subconsciously emulating him.

* {{Adorkable}}: Both of them.

* NatureIsNotNice: Though most of their time camping between parties have been rather uneventful, the brothers have had moments of nature biting at them; they've been chased by Bighoof, had items stolen by a yeti, ended up in a forest fire, got attacked by a bear, and nearly murdered by a mob of animals.

* WhatTheHellHero: In "Brother Bothers", Pinkie snaps at both Sandwiches after their arguing ended in violence and made a stage collapse.

** [[spoiler:Cheese's transformation into a werewolf. It begins with a headache and nausea, but once he takes a good look at the full moon, then the pain of pulsating muscles, twisting guts, his teeth and muzzle feeling yanked on, and a heart attack crashes onto him with full force until the transformation is complete]].

** Mozzarella, while trying to raise her sons into respectable stallions, is an ambitious and narrow-minded EducationMama who aggressively meddles in her sons' lives so that they fit her high standards, and snaps at them when they fall short or pursue the "wrong" career(and presumably practices ParentalFavoritism toward whichever son seems more promising at the moment). Her [[HenpeckedHusband mild-mannered husband]] was even driven into being a depressed {{Workaholic}} who barely acknowledges his family.
** Honeydew may be the OpenMindedParent, but [[spoiler:she was incredibly irresponsible, lazy, and a spoiled crybaby with an odd vendetta against rules (most likely because of Mozzarella), thus, she let her foals be free to do as they wish, having too much faith in ChildrenAreInnocent, and how they'd find their "true selves" without limits. She'd even pull the "you don't love me or our foals" card and/or run off to the local commune whenever her husband tried to assert his authority as a husband and father]].

*** He blatantly sings "The Longest Time" when it starts playing on the train.

* NoodleIncident: In the Shining Vocals arc, Sapphire Shores is blackmailed with the threat of a tabloid article of her botched charity event, which apparently led to some porpoises' demise.

* DarkerAndEdgier: Despite being a goofy fic about Weird Al pony taking his grumpy brother on vacation, the fic features dark subject matter such as MindRape, depressing childhoods, [[WarIsHell a backstory about war]] and werewolves, bloody violence, and horrifying [[PainfulTransformation transformations.

** The first time is mainly defending Cheese's talent and trying to convince her that it's not what she thinks it is, but she easily shoots it down as it sounds like a naive teenager defending a toxic lover. He only manages to startle her with [[spoiler:his inner vampire acting up and hissing in anger]], but she only sees it as proving her point about him being immature.

* CourtroomAntics: Surprisingly, there is little nonsense in the CourtroomEpisode. The only antic is Kazam goading Cheese Sandwich into starting a fight when he learns why the party pony wasn't a witness. [[NoHoldsBarredBeatdown It doesn't end well for him]].

* DaddyDNATest: In a brief argument with Sour Sweet, Lemon Zest mentions having one taken, and that Fallow is indeed her father. Tomato's taken aback by what Sour Sweet implied about Lemon's mother [[spoiler:and his aunt]].
* DarkerAndEdgier: Despite being a goofy fic about Weird Al pony taking his grumpy brother on vacation, the fic features dark subject matter such as MindRape, depressing childhoods, [[WarIsHell a backstory about war]] and werewolves, bloody violence, and horrifying PainfulTransformations.

* WouldHurtAChild: Both Kazam and [[spoiler:Wayer Rune]] more than likely knew that foals would be among the victims of their respective spells; the fact that [[spoiler:parents cry over their transformed children in both the Las Pegasus and Plague arcs]] and [[spoiler:the Cutie Mark Crusaders are shown to have been affected by the Monster Plague]] suggests that they just ''don't care''.
