* BadassGay: There are several LGBT characters that are just as badass as anyone in RWBY. Those include Grayson, Emerald, Mercury, Cobalt, and Kincaid. And another canon gay character has a cameo in CRME.That character is Ilia Amitola.

* OutdatedByCanon: Up to about Chapter 9 of Volume 6, there was nothing in these stories that would contradict the show. Once that came out, cracks started to form when Emerald explicitly stated she didn't have anyone who loved her. In this series, she knew her father and mother before going onto the streets. There is also the fact that Watts was presumed dead, meaning he couldn't work in a hospital during CRME. Once Volume 8 finally gave Cinder's backstory, it was completely different from the one described in My Name Is Cinder. As of the Volume 8 finale, the only stories that don't have any contradicting elements are The Black HeartsThe only thing that was excluded was Marcus stealing Mercury's Semblance, but it otherwise still fits. and Roman's Empire.Though, it may be a matter of time if Neo's backstory is ever touched upon.

* PseudocanonicalFic: It's clear that the series was intended to fit within the bounds of the show's universe as best as it can. Especially considering that there are many scenes from "Beginning of the End" referenced in CRME. Up until about Chapter 9 of Volume 6, everything in the series fits with canon.
