It also contains a new villain who, for once, has other plans other than [[TakeOverTheWorld taking over the world]] for some petty reason, and a love story between two team members.

In short, it has everything the show lacked... CharacterDevelopment, tridimensional characters and more, for something that is much, much BetterThanCanon. Perfect for both the fans (who would have liked better writing) and the haters (who found the plot shallow).

* AntiVillain: Dan, Vincent's brother [[spoiler:He later has a change of heart which result in him getting killed]].
* BadassInDistress: Danger Duck at the climax.

* BigBrotherInstinct: Tech to Rev, even if they aren't related.
** Subverted by Vincent: he seems to really love and support his mute brother, [[spoiler:but when he does a HeelFaceTurn, he kills him]].
* CharacterDevelopment: Much, but the biggest examples are Duck and Rev.
* ChekhovsGun: The machine that brings people back to life.
* TheChessMaster: Vincent.
* ConservationOfNinjitsu: Averted. Ace even {{lampshade}}s that, since a single supervillain is able to give them a good fight, they can't hope to beat twenty.

* GadgeteerGenius: Tech as always, but also Dan Cavanagh, who is even able to hack in the Loonatics's HQ security (but only for 10 minutes).
