* PreAsskickingOneLiner: After Xiphias Gladius arrogantly brags about his awesomeness, Harribel simply points out his MeaningfulName before saying, "How unfortunate for you. ''Sharks eat fish.''" Later, Levy gushes about how badass that line sounded.

* GoOutWithASmile: Ignem seems at peace when Wonderweiss weakens him by absorbing his flames and then Natsu finishes him off.

* JustAKid: Lucy's companions, except Erza, do this with Wonderweiss and Hitsugaya, only to eat their words.

* LockedOutOfTheLoop: After Ukitake was summoned, he, Kyoraku, and Yamamoto inform everyone in Soul Society about the black key and warn them that they can be summoned by Lucy at any time, but do not tell them about the white key. Thus, Rangiku was incredibly shocked when she learned about it.

* DangerouslyGenreSavvy:
** When he realizes he can't overpower Kenpachi, Daemon goes around him and tries to kill Lucy, knowing that if a Celestial Spirit Mage dies, the contract is cancelled and the summoned being automatically returns to where they came from. Fortunately, Kenpachi stops him in time.
** Xiphias Gladius grabs Lucy and takes her ring of keys as soon as he runs into her. Fortunately, she was carrying the white key in her pocket.
** The demon twins also try to take her keys as soon as she arrives, but she gave them to Virgo beforehand and she hands them back after sneak attacking them.
** The Tengu explains that he wants to take Lucy alive so that she can be forced to use the white and black keys in service to Zeref, and calls all the previous demons fools for trying to kill her, which would have rendered the keys useless.

* MarshmallowHell: Wonderweiss buries his face in Lucy's cleavage. Like in canon, Erza often does this to people, especially Lucy. The tables turn when Rangiku does it to her, making everybody laugh.

* HeroicSelfDepreciation: Lucy's friends praise her for being so special and strong enough to use the black and white keys, but she just doesn't see it, and wishes she had other powers besides summoning so she could help her friends herself.

* MarshmallowHell: Like in canon, Erza often does this to people, especially Lucy. The tables turn when Rangiku does it to her, making everybody laugh.

* EvenTheGirlsWantHer: Lucy, Levy, and Erza get slight crushes on Harribel, as do Gray and Gajeel. Lucy and Levy blush when they meet Rangiku, and pretty much every guy hits on her.

* PetTheDog: Despite making it very clear that he doesn't care about Lucy, Grimmjow comforts her when she's distraught over a village the demons burned to the ground by revealing the villagers survived.

* DramaticIrony: Lucy and her friends are unaware of the situation in the Bleach universe, so they don't know of the conflict between the Shinigami and Arrancar. They also think most of the Arrancar are just ruffians instead of villains.

** Lucy reminds Ulquiorra of Orihime. He shows respect to Erza because her personality is like Harribel, one of the few people he respects. Natsu, Gray, Laxus, and Gajeel remind him of Grimmjow, Nnoitra, and Yammy, which disgusts him because he thinks they are imbeciles.

** Rangiku notes that Natsu and the others roughhousing is like Ikkaku, Renji, and the others back home.

* DrivingQuestion: What would Zeref and the demons want with the two keys if they can't use them?

* SecretKeeper: After being summoned, Harribel and Grimmjow don't tell anyone else in Hueco Mundo about it (Harribel because she figures someone like Aizen knowing about Lucy and the keys would be a bad idea, Grimmjow because he doesn't want anyone to know he served someone). Wonderweiss obviously couldn't tell anyone about it because he's mentally handicapped. Baraggan figures out what happened on his own and Harribel questions him on the nature of the keys (Baraggan definitely wouldn't tell Aizen because he hates him). They later tell the other Arrancar to warn them that they can be summoned at any time. After Gin was summoned, he keeps the secret as well, for his own reasons.

* YouNeedToGetLaid: Cana does this to Lucy a lot.

* NiceJobBreakingItHero: After the party takes down a magic barrier blocking their path to Mortem, a demon thanks them, because now ''they'' can access the town too.

* In chapter 20, [[DynamicEntry Grimmjow]] actually ''PUNCHES'' Nnoitra for laying hands on Lucy. In fact it's noted in-story that [[PetTheDog Grimmjow being seemingly offended in Lucy's honor]] AND getting the drop on Nnoitra is odd.

* ScheduleSlip: Around April/May 2014, the author's stored notes and outlines were deleted by a computer failure. She assured that she is not giving up on the story and must simply write them over again, but warned the readers that updates will not happen as frequently as a result. She later explained that she has to focus on college.

* YouHaveGotToBeKiddingMe: Lucy, Laxus, and Grimmjow all do this when Natsu says he has no idea what sulfur and magnesium are. Lucy complains that since he deals with fire, he should have some knowledge about flammable materials.
