* PrinceCharmless: Blueblood is as smug as ever but his behavior towards Peter takes him to a new low: when Peter enters his room, Blueblood throws furniture with sufficient force to kill him even though he hadn't even attacked him, decks one the royal guards in the process and nearly injures her servant, demands Peter be put in chains or else be locked up by parliamentary maneuver, and allows one of the nobles to shamelessly insult Sveti. He gets told off by Princess Celestia and Luna, who due to his actions, have to put Peter under crown protection.

* RunOrDie: After escaping from Big Top, Peter spends the next couple of weeks running and hiding from everypony out of fear that, if caught, the ponies might imprison or even kill him, or worse. Subverted in that they only want to bring him in for his own protection and to get to the bottom of why he, a member of a previously unknown species, is even in Equestria to begin with.

* AntiMagic: Peter seemingly dilutes any magic that he comes into contact with: Unicorn magic is dispelled, and pegasi and earth ponies can't touch him without losing their fight and strength respectively. Pinkie Pie's RealityWarper abilities don't even affect him, and Discord burns himself and Peter with his chaos magic. In return, Peter's metabolism is heightened, allowing him to perform great acrobatic stunts, but it drains him of his energy, and his mind becomes very erratic. It turns out he doesn't dispel the magic, he's been absorbing it. [[spoiler: His body has been transferring the magic around him to Earth, allowing for a possible gateway back home.]]

* TorchesAndPitchforks:As if he wasn't already in trouble, Peter is confronted by a mob in Canterlot, carrying torches, but ''no'' pitchforks. Thankfully, he is able to escape from them.

* FromBadToWorse: Poor Peter. First he's stranded in the Everfree forest, then kidnapped and locked in a cage as part of a sideshow to be whipped and humiliated, escapes only to be nearly killed by a minotaur, pursued by ponies, nearly killed by Prince Blueblood, [[spoiler: driven to near suicide, nearly framed for eating a filly, attacked by rogue griffin soldiers, trapped on the Astral Plane due to a sabotage of Twlight's experiments, and brought back only to learn that not only is his connection to Earth severed, but the magic he has been absorbing and channeling to his world will now build up inside him until he '''EXPLODES'''.]]

** Sergeant Peppermint York and the Canterlot nobility, in a villainous example. They both want Peter out of the way, but it is clear that Peppermint York can't stand working with them, since they only see Peter as a means to weaken Princess Twilight, and don't care who gets hurt, while Peppermint York thinks Peter is dangerous, but does not want to endanger anypony trying to get to him.

* AliensSpeakingEnglish: Averted. Peter can't communicate vocally with ponies. However with with Twilight's help, and through illustrations, Peter eventually is able to speak the Equestrian language.
