Added DiffLines:

* GodzillaThreshold: Magnaangemon clearly considers the Gate of Destiny this, as anything that falls into it basically ceases to exist, even if he agrees that Blackwargreymon is dangerous enough to at least attempt to use it on him. However, after [[spoiler:Dagomon has been driven back, Magnaangemon has to ensure that the Deadmon attacking the human world are dealt with by opening another Gate of Destiny over the whole city, despite the potential risk of innocent people getting pulled in by chance]].

* EvilKnockoff: As well as Blackwargreymon, at one point Arukenimon lures the Digidestined into a trap by creating a Spire-born duplicate of Zudomon that they assume is Gomamon under the control of a Dark Spiral, until it’s destroyed by Ikkakumon and Submarimon.

to:

* EvilKnockoff: As well as Blackwargreymon, at [=BlackWarGreymon=] is obvious, but there are other examples;
** At
one point Arukenimon lures the Digidestined into a trap by creating a Spire-born duplicate of Zudomon that they assume is Gomamon under the control of a Dark Spiral, until it’s destroyed by Ikkakumon Spiral.
** During the invasion of the real world, a group of Deadmon combine into a duplicate of [=WreGarurumon=]
** After [[spoiler:Oikawa temporarily takes control of Veemon, Hawkmon
and Submarimon.Armadillomon, he is able to create copies of them even after the Digidestined have taken their partners back, although these copies cannot assume the Ultimate forms of the originals]].

Added DiffLines:

* DramaPreservingHandicap: While the original Digidestined had 'internalised' the power of their Crests by the time of the final battle with Apocalymon, their reals in the real world have caused that power to weaken, restricting their partners to Champion forms save for particularly dire situations (such as [[spoiler:Kari being sent to the Dark World or TK and Patamon facing Blackwargreymon alone]]), necessitating their later quest to restore the Crests.

Added DiffLines:

Added DiffLines:

* NobleDemon: Blackwargreymon comes across as this, as while he’ll beat the Digidestined Digimon into unconsciousness he never kills them if they can’t fight back, up to the point of sparing Gabumon.

** Sora has retained much of her first-series personality. In canon, she adopts a more girlish personality after [[Anime/DigimonAdventure original adventure]], such as playing tennis instead of soccer, becoming a YamatoNadeshiko flower seller with little trace of her tomboyish personality, and as an adult, become a fashion designer. Here, her tomboyish nature continued to develop rather than abate, becoming the captain of the girls soccer team, [[GetAHoldOfYourselfMan slapping Yolei when she gets hysterical]], giving a TheReasonYouSuckSpeech facing down Gargomon, and straight up punching Yolei, [[spoiler: who was being a bitch and ridiculing Sora [[KickTheDog over her parents and her feelings for Tai]]]].

* CripplingOverspecialization: Not exactly ‘crippling’, but while Izzy is still the smartest of the Digidestined when dealing with computers, he admits that Yolei is better at actually hacking computers than he is, with his own speciality being pure research and analysis.

* IgnoredAesop: Cody's grandfather is always encouraging him to maintain an open mind, but while Cody respects his grandfather, he always ignores this advice when dealing with Ken no matter how many other people come to believe he's changed.

* OmnidisciplinaryScientist: Defied; Izzy is still the expert on the mechanics of the Digital World and their Digivices, but defers to Yolei when the situation calls for computer hacking to be done as she’s better than him in that regard, and he outright admits that Joe is better-suited to deal with medical matters [[spoiler:such as analysing Ken’s autopsy reports]].

* OnlyFriend: According to the letter and presents from [[spoiler: Ken]], he considers Davis, Kari, and TK to be his only 3 friends ([[BlackAndWhiteInsanity Cody]] and [[LoveHungry Yolei]] can understood that).

*BecomingTheMask: An interesting variation of this; [[spoiler:while Davis, Yolei and Cody always thought they were ‘real’ Digidestined, even after they learn that they were just pawns in Oikawa’s grand plan, they resolve to keep fighting for the Digital World, with the ‘originals’ accepting them as allies regardless of their origins]].

* TheFriendsWhoNeverHang: When [[spoiler:Yolei is possessed by Jachomon, Tai and Matt basically fill this role for her, as the only humans who can't say anything nice to help her come back to herself as they just don't know her that well (could also apply to Joe, but he was elsewhere during the confrontation)]].

* IgnoredAesop: Cody's grandfather is always encouraging him to maintain an open mind, but while Cody respects his grandfather, he always ignores this advice when dealing with Ken no matter how many other people come to believe he's changed.

* LaResistance: Ken's tyrannical reign causes a group of digimon to form a fighting force devoted to liberating their world. Unfortunately their leader is extremely prejudicial against all humans and can't seem to get it through his head the Digidestined are the good guys. As time goes on they begin [[ThoseWackyNazis to devolve and get even more trigger-happy]]. Matters aren't helped when Gargomon [[spoiler: gets transformed into Blackrapidmon and destroys the Resistance in a blind rage]].

Matters aren't helped when Gargomon [[spoiler: gets transformed into Blackrapidmon and destroys the Resistance in a blind rage]].

Added DiffLines:

* {{Hypocrite}}: Hard to argue that this doesn't apply to Cody for the most part; he is one of the most vehement against just killing their opponents even when the original Digidestined argue that it's the only option (and most of the time they're right) because he says that criminals should be arrested and given a chance to consider their actions, but he consistently refuses to believe that Ken's changed from the Digimon Emperor even after the rest of the team recognise that.

* MoralityPet: Applies to Palmon to a degree; even when Mimi was initially reluctant to go back into the Digital World and get involved in the fighting all over again, whenever she's reunited with Palmon she's incapable of disappointing her old partner.

to:

* MonstrousCannibalism: A lesser, humorous example; Tentomon refers to regular mosquitos as 'cannibals' when they attack him while he's in a jungle with [[spoiler:Izzy, Mimi, Yolei, Palmon and Hawkmon on their quest to restore the Crests]].
* MoralityPet: Applies to Palmon to a degree; even when Mimi was initially reluctant to go back into the Digital World and get involved in the fighting all over again, whenever she's reunited with Palmon she's incapable of disappointing she can't bring herself to disappoint her old partner.

* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: Ken has seemingly forgot the events that lead up to his conquering of the digital world, such as the fact [[spoiler: he was responsible (accidently) for the death of his older brother, how he came to know Wormmon, and the knowledge Digimon were living creatures.]] The realization hits him much harder than the original story.

The realization hits him much harder than the original story.

Added DiffLines:

* BerateAndSwitch: Basically applies to Gomamon's description of the real world;
-->"Concrete ground! Stinky air! Needing money for everything! I love this place!"

* ItsAllAboutMe: Mimi and Yolei have a bad case of this until [[spoiler:Ken's death.]] Davis begins with it, but slowly grows out of it around the middle point of the story.

to:

* ItsAllAboutMe: ItsAllAboutMe:
** The Digimon Emperor initially disbelieves the others’ claims to be Digidestined as he believes that the Digital world can only be accessed by special people, and he found it because he is the only ‘truly perfect human being’.
**
Mimi and Yolei have a bad case of this until [[spoiler:Ken's death.]] Davis begins with it, but slowly grows out of it around the middle point of the story.

Added DiffLines:

* ImmortalsFearDeath: Their reaction probably wasn’t helped by the fact that they were in their emotionally immature In-Training forms, but Upamon and Demiveemon basically break down and cry when they learn that [[spoiler:not only will Ken not come back in the human equivalent of ‘Primary Village’ after his death, but that all of their human partners and friends will eventually die and leave them for good no matter what the Digimon do to protect them]].

* CoolBoat: Because none of Veemon's armor forms can fly or swim, during the assault on the Kaiser's base, Davis thinks to try and make a canoe out of a nearby palmtree to follow the others, as it's the only thing around to work with. [[ShaggySearchTechnique Resting his hand against it]], he accidentally throws the lever and he and Veemon are suddenly riding a small island.

* ShipSinking: Any chance of a Kenyako pairing is obliterated when Yolei gets rejected by Ken despite dedicating everything to get his attention to the point of even selling out her friends just for the chance to get him [[spoiler:as well as him dying which cements this even further.]] Given the fact that he never give any tape for her, it seems that Ken doesn't really consider her a friend either.
