''March of the Inevitable'' is a CrossOver FanFic of ''Franchise/DragonAge'' and ''{{TabletopGame/Warhammer}}'' written by [[https://www.fanfiction.net/u/2143142/SpartAl412 SpartAl412]]. The story begins with the High Elf Chracian warrior Khorieus inadvertently flung through the Realms of Chaos by a Lord of Change following a hunt on a Chaos cultist and lands in Denerim. Initially, he along with city elf Kallian Tabris attempt to find a way back to his world while running afoul of the Templars but only to encounter others from his world who also find themselves in the same predicament. It is gradually reveal that [[PowersThatBe higher forces]] are at work in guiding these heroes to face [[AStormIsComing something]] that the world of Thedas isn't prepare for.

* BadassCrew: So far Khorieus, Illenya, Yransair, Kallian, Solona, and Theron in ''Blood of the Phoenix''. If the Ninety-Nine plus companions are truly united into one force it will be a sight to truly behold how badass they are.
* BadassGrandpa: The High Elves and Dwarfs are centuries old and some of them [[OlderThanTheyLook looked like they're in their thirties]]. Jacob Darius is a Templar at his prime and was expecting his grandchild. Warrior Priest Albrecht Krieger count for The Empire.

* {{Anticlimax}}: The siege of Isammar shortly ended with [[spoiler:the Vanguard having [[BoomHeadshot his head blown off]] by Vanyra, and causing the Vanguard's leaderless officers to fighting each other for leadership and leaving the entire Darkspawn army fall into disarray, thus making the Legion of the Dead to easily rout them before TheCavalry from Orzammar arrived]]. The Legion and including Sereda even deemed the whole thing a "disappointment."

** The Blood Mage Marius want to summon some demons to help him stop some pursuing Templars, but only to open a portal to and stare in utter horror at the [[EldritchLocation Realm of Chaos]] before getting skewered by a Templar's blade. It seems that his death spared him from a FateWorseThanDeath, but his soul is presumably punished in eternal damnation.

* TheChosenMany: The Warhammer heroes are known as the 'Ninety-Nine' and are part of the cosmic game between the 'Crone' and the 'Raven'. The Thedasians that traveled with the Ninety-Nine are specifically chosen by the Warhammer Gods and are called the 'God-Marked.' For example [[spoiler: Kallian]] and [[spoiler:Solona]] are patrons of the gods [[spoiler:[[WarGod Khaine]]]] and [[spoiler:[[TheSmartGuy Hoeth]]]], respectively.

** The Crone/[[spoiler:Morai-Heg]] mentions the involvement of the Kreeqar-gan, which is a name used in the ''Time of Legends'' series for one of the Warhammer setting's greatest evils, [[spoiler:Nagash]].

* CosmicChessGame: The sudden appearance of Warhammer characters in Thedas is all deliberately part of a conflict between the 'Crone' ([[spoiler:Morai-Heg]]) and the 'Raven' ([[spoiler:Tzeentch]]). It is clearly implied that the Raven has destroyed an unspeakable number of realities, and Thedas is the only recent reality facing imminent destruction. This is why the Crone is determined not to lose and is why she has chosen the 'Ninety-Nine' and their companions, the God-Marked, to prevent the Raven from claiming the 'Dragonsoul' ([[spoiler:the Archdemon's soul]]). Both use a game board to plot the "pieces" of their destinies.

** Kallian is quite surprised of the concept of humans being bound into servitude towards elves in the Warhammer world.
** Illenya was surprised and disgusted to learn that [[InterspeciesRomance interspecies breeding between elves and humans]] exists in Thedas.[[note]]Human/elf interbreeding does exist in the Warhammer world but not too often. In ''Gilead's Blood'' by Dan Abnett, there is a half elf character who was thought by some and even the elves to be human.[[/note]]
** Sereda couldn't fathom the idea that commoner dwarves are allowed to fight as it is against tradition when it is the Warrior and Noble caste who are allowed to bearing arms and go into battle, while other castes solely fulfill their given roles, such as the blacksmiths that makes and provide the weapons. Vanyra finds this incredulous as in the Warhammer world ''every'' dwarf regardless of their occupation and background ''should'' learn how to fight (given to [[EverythingTryingToKillYou lots of enemies and monsters roaming about]]), and finds Sereda's views (and Thedas dwarfs in general) sounding like a ''[[HumansAreMorons umgi]]''.
** For all Warhammer dwarfs they are shock to see beardless male dwarves whereas Warhammer dwarfs deeply valued their beards. Vanyra really find it appalling that [[ApeShallNeverKillApe deadly inter-fighting occurs between Thedas dwarves]] (though she reluctantly admits that the only exception when Warhammer dwarfs that get ever more violent with their own kind are the Chaos Dwarfs). Also, [[ArsonMurderAndJaywalking dwarven alcohol sucks]].

* {{Gorn}}: Considering that this ''is'' a Warhammer crossover, the author's stories in general tend to go into [[NightmareFuel horrific detail]] about the battles being fought and the way things get killed. So expect for LudicrousGibs, BodyHorror, and NauseaFuel.

* HeroOfAnotherStory: Each of the Ninety-Nine are characters from the author's other Warhammer stories. Some of them are the protagonists of their own stories while others are {{Ascended Extra}}s and {{Early Bird Cameo}}s.

* HumansAreSpecial: When discussing of Solona agreeing to come to the Warhammer world, Illenya ask if she is ready for the [[WarIsHell wars]] of their world to which Yransair replies: "She is a human, she will adapt and learn."

** Solona Amell ultimately intended to go with the High Elves to the Warhammer world, where magic is generally accepted (depending on the location and custom) rather than being put on the run by the Templars and Chantry.
** Khorieus briefly pondered on bringing some elves of the Sabrae clan to his world, but quickly dismissed the idea given the exact [[ForeverWar nature]] [[EverythingTryingToKillYou of]] [[TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt his]] [[CrapsackWorld world]].

* LanguageBarrier: Fortunately, both denizens of Thedas and the Warhammer world share the [[FantasyCounterpartCulture same language]] (Brettonia/Orlais, Albion/Ferelden, etc.). However, [[AliensSpeakingEnglish the Ferelden language]] is difficult to grasp for most of the Warhammer natives because Ferelden's counterpart, Albion, is a small, isolated island in which the Albion language is not very common.

* NoodleIncident: There are certain events the Warhammer characters will mention about their pasts but is only explained in the various non-crossover stories.
* NoSell: The lack of the Winds of Magic in Thedas is a concerning point for some of the Warhammer natives, such as the inability to creating runes without the Winds. However, there are some magic-users that have no problems wielding their brand of magic.
** The Warhammer natives' magics are not to say that they are immune to the Templars' AntiMagic abilities but they are not completely hampered by it. It is demonstrated with the Templars that fought Yransair were still able to resist a number of his spells.

* OneManArmy: Generally the Warhammer characters, but special mention should go to Vanyra Skorrisdottir for single-handedly annihilating nearly an entire Darkspawn war band within the span of a single chapter.

* TrappedInAnotherWorld: The premise of certain residents of the Warhammer world stranded in Thedas.
