* InfantImmortality: Averted.

** By chapter 21, 90% of Liberty City is dead or zombified.

* {{Badass}}:
** Niko of course.
** The Lost MC, who ride head on into zombie hordes with baseball bats and sawed off shotguns.
** Paul Ross. Despite being the CIA director he is more than willing to get involved in high risk missions and fight against the undead horde.
** FIB/FBI special agent Adam Hill, an original character.

* TheWoobie: Roman clearly suffers much worse psychologically than Niko.
** Original character Jill Paster has spent both of her very brief appearances getting hurt and/or killed. Niko tries to warm her up, but cannot stop her from shooting herself when they are surrounded by Ross-aligned prison guards.

* YanksWithTanks: The situation degrades to the point where the USAF are called in and the Marines are on standby.

* XMeetsY: Niko Bellic killing zombies in Liberty City? Yes, please!

** Paul Ross. Despite being the CIA director he is more than willing to get involved in high risk missions and fight against the undead horde

** By chapter 21, 99% of Liberty City and Alderney Island are dead or zombified.

** Later Francis uses another one to announce the CIA as the enemy to all civilians.

* HeelFaceTurn: NOOSE become a vital part of the resistance after Francis turns against the CIA and order them to stop killing civilians.

** Ross borrows USAF and US Navy planes to drop napalm bombs.

** Chapter 25, ...[[spoiler: only to return minus a leg, using Francis' legacy to organize TheRemnant]].

* YouAreInCommandNow: With the mayor on a "comfort trip" to Las Venturas and with deputy mayor Bryce Dawkins in rehab, Francis is left as the highest authority in Liberty City .

Added DiffLines:

* BlandNameProduct: Due to conflicts between the real and the GTA world, Patriots are considered generic Humvee type vehicles.
** Chinooks and Cargobobs appear side by side.
** Buzzard and Little Bird are used interchangeably as nicknames for the AH-6 attack helicopter.
** A non-corporate example: FIB and FBI are seen as the same bureau.

Added DiffLines:

* BackForTheDead: LCPD Happiness Island guard Jill survives half a killing for no particular reason then returns much later, only to shoot herself.

* FightingForSurvival: As the plague spreads, the survivors become much more battle hardened and able to help out Niko and his crew. These include:
** The Pack - The LCPD after they become more competent at fighting the zombies.
** Soldier Ants - The civilians who manage to survive the initial outbreak, especially [[spoiler: Luis Lopez's small army of former club bouncers and [=DJ=]s]] who are more than able to survive on their own.
** Lions - Commissioner [=McReary=], who quickly turns the LCPD into an effective fighting force against the undead.

Added DiffLines:

* ColdSniper: Many examples,but the worst offenders are various LCPD officers protecting the bridges, as well as NOOSE and eventually CIA units getting in on the action as the situation in Liberty City dissolves into all out anarchy

* DyingLikeAnimals : Very true for a world as cynical as that of GTA. Specific examples include:
** Lambs - The citizens of Algonquin island. While the rest of the city descends into anarchy they do very little to help,prepared to sit behind the walls and LCPD barricades around them.
** Boars - The LCPD at first. This is shown especially by one of the officers in chapter four who needlessly sacrifices himself as his comrades are being torn apart by the undead.
** Wolves - The looters and the Chinatown Triads. Both groups are well armed and manage to survive, but are more than willing to kill other survivors to do so.
** Weasels - Ironically enough,the reporters of Weazel News fit this trope. As Broker burns around them,they use their helicopter to get exclusive images of survivors running from the undead while making no attempt to help them.

* ObligatoryWarCrimeScene: As the situation deteriorates, we get to witness the LCPD gun down civilians in an attempt to protect the uninfected parts of the city.
