* The PoliticalOvercorrectness world of ''Manga/ACentaursLife'' runs on this. A seemingly innocuous comment (Like assuming someone has dyed hair) can be considered a ''hate crime''. And result in the offender being arrested and sent to a reeducation facility.

* Obari from ''Anime/{{Kite}}'' unknowingly sets himself up for this trope; after his new jacket is dirtied by a wet basketball that accidentally hit him, Obari shoots the basketball, angering the two children that were playing with the ball, especially the little girl. [[spoiler:At the end of the film, the little girl abruptly shoots and kills Obari as he walks by on his way to meet up with Sawa.]]

* K from ''Manhwa/IWish'' put a curse on his real name that will cause those that speak it unbearable harm... because some kid used to make fun of his name.

** Then there's Char Aznable from ''Anime/MobileSuitGundam'' who takes it upon himself to avenge his father's death by killing all of the Zabi family, despite no full proof evidence coming forth that Degwin really did murder Zeon Deikun. It can be argued that Gihren was a monster and Kycilia was TheBaroness. However, the murder of Garma Zabi, Char's own best friend, definitely counts. Seeing that Garma was actually [[AntiVillain a really decent guy]] to both friend and foe and [[BloodBrothers trusted Char completely]]. Char's own sister, Sayla, comments in disgust about Char's revenge. And later on Char himself even admits it was wrong to take Garma's life and that he isn't motivated by revenge anymore.

** In ''Manga/PhantomBlood'', Jonathan beats [[BigBad Dio Brando]] to a bloody pulp in a brawl until he's literally in tears after Dio forcefully kissed and humiliated Jonathan's LoveInterest Erina (along with all the other abuse Jonathan suffered under him). Dio reacts by taking Jonathan's dog Danny the first chance he gets, tying him up and '''throwing him in a furnace to be immolated'''. This is when Dio stops being a petty {{Jerkass}} and just reveals himself to be [[TheSociopath an outright monster.]]
*** In fact, this is Dio's main motivation for most of his actions as an adult in Part 1. Spending 7 years plotting to kill the Joestar family, becoming an immortal vampire, and attempting to TakeOverTheWorld? It's all because he got his ass handed to him in what essentially amounts to ''a petty children's brawl.'' Truly beyond pathetic, and his unwillingness to accept humility and responsibility for his actions shows that [[PsychopathicManchild he never matured from the pathological narcissist he was as a preteen.]]
** In ''Manga/StardustCrusaders'', [[TheDragon Vanilla Ice]] is forced to attack a sand statue of [[BigBad DIO]] made by Iggy, [[spoiler:so Vanilla Ice brutally punches and kicks Iggy until he's fatally wounded, in a literal KickTheDog moment]]. Over a ''statue''.
** ''Manga/DiamondIsUnbreakable'':

*** In a case of the heroes performing this, at the conclusion of the Enigma Boy arc, Josuke turns Miyamoto into a [[AndIMustScream sentient, fully-conscious book]]. Keep in mind, the only similar punishment that Josuke doled out was to a SerialKiller and [[SerialRapist Rapist]], whereas all Miyamoto did was attempted murder and kidnapping, which isn't very nice, but is it really worth such a fate?

** In ''Manga/GoldenWind'', while practicing his multiplication tables with [[TheSmartGuy Fugo]], [[BookDumb Narancia]] gets a math problem wrong. [[HairTriggerTemper Fugo]] responds [[EnragedByIdiocy by stabbing him in the face with a fork]].
** ''Manga/SteelBallRun'': A man at a movie theater shoots Johnny Joestar in the back, permanently crippling him, just because Johnny cut him in line.

* In ''Manga/PokemonAdventures'', the Sinnoh Trio make a lot of noise in Mt. Coronet's caves. Cyrus feels that burying the three twelve-year old children in a rock slide is the appropriate response.
** In the FRLG chapter, one of the two Deoxys Team Rocket captured and experimented on was understandably miffed after it was [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness trashed]]. However, it retaliated 3 years later in the ORAS chapter, [[spoiler: directing a meteor to destroy the entire planet]].

** In the manga ''[[Manga/YuGiOhZexal Yu-Gi-Oh! D Team ZEXAL]]'', the ''very'' unsubtly-named villain [[CardCarryingVillain Master Evil's]] motive for destroying the entire Duel Carnival (possibly killing his two henchmen after their deathtrap-based duels failed) was because he was disqualified from the last Carnival. (He claimed it was because his deck was too powerful and opponents fled from him in fear, but the ''real'' reason is, he had been cheating.)
* An older boy in ''Anime/YuGiOhGX'' that Judai looked up to used a trap card to stop him from summoning Yubel in a duel when he was a kid. He was fairly upset... so Yubel put him in the hospital. When Judai visited the boy later, Yubel did ''something'' that made him scream. Small wonder nobody wanted to play with him, because they ''kept'' doing these kinds of things.
** And it must be remembered that this was before Yubel's "corruption" by the Light of Destruction, which only served to increase the scope of Yubel's crazed actions, affecting their core nature not at all.

* How does Nagisa's mother in ''Manga/AssassinationClassroom'' respond to Koro-sensei trying to tell her how to raise her son? [[spoiler:She tries to burn the Class 3-E building to the ground!]]

** And then there's [[spoiler:Takaoka, whose reaction to being humiliated by Nagisa is to attempt to kill most of the class with a deadly virus (and then destroying the antidote when he's confronted). The assassins he hired [[EvnEvilHasStandards also thought this was going way too far]], and just slipped in something that would give them a bad stomach bug instead]].

* In ''Manga/DemonSlayerKimetsuNoYaiba'', it is shown in the tragic backstory of a particularly strong demon, much later in the series final battles; due the lack of a full presentation of what transpired the day the [[spoiler:rival dojo decided to poison the water well Keizo and Koyuki drank from, it is unknown if the ''entire'' kendo school was in on the nefarious plan to kill Akaza's loved ones, and possibly him as well, or just the ones actually seen poisoning the well: the master's son and his goons; nevertheless Hakuj's (Akaza back when he was human) blood curling anger led him to kill the entire school, ''67 men slaughtered'', no questions asked, only a female maid was spared]].
