Taking place in the year 2155, "A Phoenix Reborn" takes place in an America that has been taken over by a money and power obsessed cult for sixty three years, and focuses primarily on the rebellion that has been built to defeat the government and save the oppressed classes from the wealthy cultists.

Taking place in the year 2155, "A Phoenix Reborn" takes place in an America that has been taken over by a money and power obsessed cult for sixty three years, and focuses primarily on the rebellion that has been built to defeat the government and save the oppressed classes from the wealthy cultists.
It is a very long story, over three hundred pages currently, and still a WIP. It is not available online ''yet'', but a website made to host the story is being planned and should be launched soon.

* BigLabyrinthineBuilding: Corrosion Plaza, a fallen building with seemingly endless rooms and hallways to get lost exploring.
* BlackMarketProduce: Such as "Jerky Flavored Meat in a Can". From a vending machine.
* CityNoir: Seattle has become one of these, due to the pollution, [[BuildingOfAdventure the gang-run Corrosion Plaza]], and [[CorruptCop the terrible enforcement]]. New York City is a larger scale version, with similar problems on an exaggerated scale.
* CrapsackWorld: A world with [[SexSlave sex slaves]], orphans forced into hard labor, extremely corrupt and over-powered law enforcers, and no proper health care for anyone besides the wealthy.
* {{Cult}}: The Meliorist Church is considered to be one InUniverse. Devoted Meliorists are called the derogatory name "cultists" by the lower class citizens, and a lot of their followers express an interest in conformity, law-following and being as perfect as possible.
* DeceasedParentsAreTheBest: Warren's parents and Bora's mother, who are all long dead, were loving parents who did their best to care for their kids despite the poor circumstances.
* {{Dystopia}}: Specifically, an extreme-capitalist dystopia with a ruthless law enforcement, {{SexSlave}}s, and extreme wealth disparity.
* GoodParents: Olivia Warlow, a sweet-as-sugar old lady who cares about Emory more than anything in the world.
* HerBoyfriendsJacket: Constance ''loves'' Rainy's jacket, even though they are no longer officially dating. She takes any opportunity to steal it.
* IconOfRebellion: A Phoenix, to symbolize that the rebellion rose from the "ashes" of the people's anger, and that the rebellion will never die.
* LaResistance: Created by Gerard and now led by Warren, [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin "The Rebellion"]] fights to overthrow the dystopian government. Bora's faction, though different from The Rebellion in methods and attitude, are working for the same goal.
* LoadsAndLoadsOfCharacters: There's nine characters with a point of view, and many, many more supporting characters, minor characters and background characters
* MoralityKitchenSink: Characters on all sides fall on the morality spectrum. Heroic characters such as Silver Amador and Constance Parker ally with AntiHero characters like Macie Daniel and Bora, while the enforcement has characters who range from being the TokenGoodTeammate {{AntiVillain}}s to AxCrazy {{BloodKnight}}s.
* OppressiveStatesOfAmerica: The poorer one is, the worst the people in power treat them. The middle class, for example, is tolerated but looked down upon; servants and other workers, meanwhile, are little more than slaves.
* OrphanageOfFear: The children's homes, which are cramped, cold, heavily guarded by armed enforcers, and serve only to provide basic shelter and food to the orphaned children who spend their days working in mines, factories, as servants, or in other low paying, potentially risky, jobs. The treatment of the children within them range from neglect to serious and consistent physical abuse.
* PresidentEvil: President Jane Stirling, current cult president. Cult founder John Clarke and his successor Caldwell fit, as well. [[spoiler:At least, as far as Clarke goes, that's the rumor.]]
* {{Revenge}}: Carter's goal against Bora, due to her murder of his best friend, Ari Glass.
* TheCallKnowsWhereYouLive: The reason Tate joined the Parkers is that Robin burned down his farm and killed his mother, forcing him to leave his home for the first time in his life and travel the country.
* TheRevolutionWillNotBeVillified: One of Warren's goals as the new rebel leader, following the near-terrorism style rebelling Gerard became famous for.
* UrbanSegregation: Practically in all major cities, most notably in Seattle and Denver, where the wealthiest members of the community live in luxury while the rest of the city is living in some form of poverty.
* ViceCity: New York has become this, being overrun by gangs, pollution, flooding, and poverty. The wealthy fled when they could, leaving the poor to suffer in the mess.
* WellIntentionedExtremist: Some rebels and enforcers fit into this category, using far more force than necessary to complete a goal they truly believe in. [[spoiler:So does Jack Clarke, starting the current government in an attempt to push America out of a crippling depression.]]
* WeUsedToBeFriends: [[spoiler:Warren and Bora, who knew each other from the kid's home but broke up when Warren refused to run away with her.]]
* WeWillUseManualLaborInTheFuture: Modern mining and factory tools, safety measures and age-restrictions are ditched in favor of cheap labor for the benefit of the wealthy business owners.
* WorldOfBadass: People of all sides are powerful opponents. Many know some degree of hand-to-hand combat and are proficient in at least one weapon of choice. These skills are necessary in trying to combat their equally-skilled opponents, and for some, just to survive in the setting.
