Ronald James Taylor (October 16, 1952 - January 16, 2002) was an American actor, singer, and writer best known for ''Film/TradingPlaces'' (1983), ''Series/{{Matlock}}'' (1989-1990), and ''Series/StarTrekDeepSpaceNine'' (1993-1994).

He was married to [=DeBorah=] Sharpe and they had one child.

Taylor died in 2002 at the age of 49 from a heart attack.
