She was also featured opposite Creator/RockHudson in the loose melodrama duology composed of ''Film/MagnificentObsession'' (1954) and ''Film/AllThatHeavenAllows'' (1955), both directed by Creator/DouglasSirk. She achieved continuing success in television playing the lead role of matriarch Angela Channing in the soap opera ''Falcon Crest'' (19811990).
